“You see these three dice? If the total points rolled are 11 or above, it’s Big. If it’s ten or below, it’s Small.”
“That simple, huh?” Debra turned to Marion. “Honey, what do you think? Big or small?”
Marion grabbed some chips and handed them to Debra. “Your choice.”
“Well, I’ll go with Big.” Debra placed the chips on Big.
The staff signaled the dealer, who understood the cue. When the dice were revealed, it was indeed Big.
Those who had bet on Big cheered as they won their money. Debra handed the winning chips to Marion, but he gave her some more. “Pick again.”
Pretending to be thrilled by her beginner’s luck, Debra eagerly placed the chips on Big again. “I’ll stick with Big.”
The two of them played along, acting like novices. The staff, thinking they were easy prey, signaled the dealer again.
The dice was revealed, but this time it was Small. Debra’s chips were swept away.
She glanced at Marion, whose eyes were filled with amusement. “It’s okay. We have plenty more. Let’s go all in on Big, alright?”
“Sure thing, honey,” Debra agreed, stealing a glance at the staff member.

“Of course not. Enjoy your game,” the staff member quickly reassured them, stepping back.
Marion and Debra exchanged a glance. Marion tapped the table, a seemingly casual gesture, but Debra noticed something peculiar about his ring.
