My Sister’s Dying Wish
My sister, Tiffany, had been the golden child her whole life, and even when she was dying,
she still found a way to screw me over. At my wedding, no less, she announced she was already married to my fiancé, was pregnant with his kid, and then demanded I get a hysterectomy to guarantee I’d always be good
to her child.
My “from school uniform to wedding dress” fairytale turned into a real–life dumpster fire thanks to my sister, Tiffany, who decided to crash my wedding in front of two hundred
guests.
Wearing a white wedding gown – just like me

she strolled up to me, arm–in–arm with my
fiancé, Jake, the guy who should’ve been
standing by my side.
“Hey, Brittany, I’m pregnant with Jake’s baby.” “We actually already got hitched. He’s your
brother–in–law now.”
Tiffany dropped that bomb like it was nothing. She flashed a photo of the marriage
certificate on the big screen, then handed me the actual document, just in case I didn’t get
the picture.
The screen showed them, all smiles, like they
were the perfect couple.
The date on the certificate? Yesterday.
“Why?!” I managed to croak at Jake, my voice cracking a bunch of times.
Jake frowned, a flash of guilt in his eyes. He

sighed, “Brittany, Tiffany only has a year left,
okay?”
“This is her dying wish, to marry the man she
loves, have his baby…”
“She’s your sister, Brittany. You get it, right?”
And who was supposed to get me?
I looked at Jake’s lying face, a laugh bubbling
up inside.
It was tragic and hilarious all at once.
Tears streamed down my face as I screamed, “Get it? You think it’s okay for my boyfriend
to sleep with her? That she can steal my
wedding?!”
My whole life, Tiffany was the favorite. She was a pro at taking everything that was mine.
My clothes. My toys. My friends.

“Tiffany, please, just get out of my wedding!
Get out of my life!”
“That’s enough, Brittany, don’t be so harsh,”
Jake said, his eyes cold. “If it weren’t for
Tiffany, I wouldn’t be with you in the first
place.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” I stared
at him, completely floored.
“Brittany, I’m so sorry, please don’t fight because of me,” Tiffany said, suddenly crying.
“I just want Mom and Dad to have something
to look forward to after I’m gone. Marrying Jake was my last resort because I don’t want my kid to be without a mom and a dad.”
“If you can’t handle it. I’ll just die!”
