Aunt Sarah spoke up: “Oh, so that’s how it is! No wonder! I was wondering how Brynn, who we never hear anything about all year, could suddenly transform into a big boss. It was all an act! Poor Rachel, not coming home for Christmas just to help her put on this show. And then Brynn has the nerve to bully Rachel’s mother and brother. She really has no
conscience!”
My parents looked at me worriedly:
“Brynn, is what they’re saying true?”
I shook my
head.
They sighed in relief.
Aunt Karen sneered: “Emily, you’re so gullible. You believe whatever she says?”
My mom said coldly: “I know my daughter’s character. She might keep things to herself that she doesn’t want to share, but she would never lie!”
Aunt Karen’s mouth twitched in amusement: “So you’re saying my daughter is lying? Let’s
be clear – my daughter makes $400,000 a year and already bought a car. She’s a top professional! What does your daughter have?”
My mom blurted out angrily: “My daughter already bought us a house in the city! She just didn’t tell you because she was afraid you’d try to take advantage of us!”
Aunt Karen burst out laughing: “Keep dreaming! Anyone can make empty claims. Should I say I bought two private jets while we’re at it?”
She sauntered over, looking down her nose at us: “Our Rachel has always had top grades since she was little. She graduated from a prestigious university, got into a famous company, and makes hundreds of thousands a year. That’s not something a nobody like you could pretend to be! We’re all family here, so I didn’t want to say anything too harsh. But you’ve gone too far. I’m telling you, if you don’t get on your knees and apologize properly today, this isn’t over!”
I asked her: “If Rachel is so impressive, it shouldn’t be a problem for her to transfer

I asked her: “If Rachel is so impressive, it shouldn’t be a problem for her to transfer $50,000 to you as a gift, right?”
As I spoke, I transferred $50,000 each to my parents‘ bank accounts.
Aunt Karen’s eyes bulged. Aunt Sarah’s family also straightened up, looking surprised that I could actually produce money.
I smiled at Aunt Karen: “Just wait for Rachel to transfer it to you!”

She gritted her teeth and immediately messaged Rachel: “Girl, transfer $100,000 to me right now!”
I frowned: “Wow, asking for $100,000 right off the bat? Isn’t that a bit much for Rachel?”
Aunt Karen snapped at me: “My daughter is an executive! $100,000 is nothing to her!”
Five minutes passed.
I impatiently furrowed my brow: “Still not transferred?”
Aunt Karen was sweating nervously: “The signal must be bad. It’s taking a while to go through!”
Right in front of her, I transferred another $50,000 to my mom.
“The signal seems fine to me.”
Aunt Sarah finally smiled genuinely at me: “Brynn, you really do have money!”
Aunt Karen spat: “I bet that money isn’t even hers! My Rachel is so kind–hearted, she probably lent Brynn her bank card to show off!”
Just as she finished speaking, we heard a car engine turn off outside.
I turned to look and saw Rachel getting out of the car.
She was dripping in gold and jewelry, looking very wealthy.
