She said this with great conviction, but Melanie just quietly watched her.
“Didn’t you steal her boyfriend first? Then tell me, what did your sister do wrong?”
Throughout her life, Melanie had hardly ever scolded her; this was the first time.

The hatred on Melanie’s face was impossible to hide.
Leona’s eyes widened in disbelief, unable to accept that they had uncovered everything. She had hidden it so well–how could they possibly have figured it out?
She opened the diary and saw the entries. chronicling their past and her eyes began to redden. Her expression tightened with anxiety. “What does this prove? Maybe she
wrote this to sow discord between us on
purpose!”
Melanie scoffed coldly, not expecting that Leona would still try to argue at this point.
“Then tell me, where is the bracelet I gave you when you were born?”
When Leona heard about the bracelet, she
was stunned for a moment and chuckled.
“It’s been so long, it must have been taken away by the dean!”

Leona said it with certainty, but Melanie knew best that there was no bracelet at all.
She didn’t mention the safety lock at all, but Melanie already had the answer in her mind.
Before Leona could react, Melanie slapped her hard in the face.
Leona tightly covered her face, her eyes bloodshot, her anger flaring.
“So what? She doesn’t deserve to be the eldest daughter! I’ve been here for over ten years, isn’t that enough?”
Her words dripped with bitterness, never once acknowledging that she had done anything wrong.
But Melanie, every time she thought of Kate, her heart ached deeply.
“Get out!” she shouted, her voice trembling
with anger and sorrow.

immediately panicked. “I won’t do it again, please don’t kick me out.”
She begged her mother, crying, but Melanie didn’t want to hear another word. She wished for Leona to disappear from her sight immediately.
“You better leave now, or I’ll have someone force you out!”
Seeing that her mother had made up her mind, Leona stopped pretending.
She quickly wiped away her tears and with a cold smile, glared at Melanie.
“You think if you kick me out, Kate will come back and be the only daughter of this house? Wasn’t it you who kept driving her
away? The karma she‘ s facing is all because of you!”
She became more agitated as she spoke, the hurtful words spilling out.

else’s mouth, she couldn’t accept it.
In a fit of anger, she felt dizzy and collapsed onto the floor.
The housekeeper, hearing the commotion, rushed over and immediately called for an ambulance.
Her father, David, also abandoned his work and went to the hospital with Leona, unaware of the situation.
Standing outside the door, Leona couldn‘ t stop her legs from shaking in fear. She knew her father‘ s temperament all too well.
He was deeply in love with Melanie and if he found out that Melanie had collapsed because of her, she had no idea what he might do.
