CHAPTER 37
Luca‘ s POV
Casey’s house was dark when I arrived, but I did not care as I slammed my fist against the front door, the force rattling the frame. A moment later, her father opened it with his face pale and confused.
“Don Luca,” he began, but I cut him off, shoving past him into the house.
“Where is she?” I demanded, my voice echoing through the small living room.
“Where is who?” her father stammered, but I did not stop to explain.
“Casey!” I roared, stalking down the hallway. “Get out here, now!”
Her mother appeared at the top of the stairs, with a look of worry painted. evidently on her face. “Don Luca, she is not here. What’s going on? Is everything okay?”

“Nothing is okay,” I snapped, pushing open doors and searching rooms. “Where is she?”
“We don’t know,” her father said, stepping into the hallway. “She left a few days ago and hasn’t been home since. We thought she was with you.”
“You‘ re lying,” I replied as I
approached him. “If you are covering for her, I swear-”
“We are not!” her mother cried, wringing her hands. “Please, Luca, what‘ s happened? Why are you so angry? Casey said… she said you two were going to be a family…”
I froze. “A family?” I repeated, mockingly. “That’s rich. Did she also tell you the baby she is carrying is not mine?”
Her mother’s face turned white, and her father looked at me in stunned silence.
“What?” he whispered.

“You heard me,” I said, coldly. “Casey’s been lying to you, just like she has lied to everyone else. That baby is not mine, and I will never have anything to do with it, or her. If you value your lives, you will call me the second she shows up.”
“Luca, please,” her mother begged, tears streaming down her face. “What‘ s happened? What has she done?”
“She almost killed someone very important to me,” I replied, tight with rage and fury as I glared at the people who birthed Casey Tartt. “And I am going to make sure she pays for it.”
I turned and stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind me, leaving them confused and worried for their
daughter, but I did not care. Case messed with Amara, she almost killed her, and now I can’t see Amara until I find that bitch.
Back in my car, I gripped the steering wheel so hard my knuckles turned white. The image of Amara, broken, hurt, and

betrayed, flashed through my mind.
How could I have been so blind? How
could I have let Casey manipulate me into this mess?
I should have known she would go after Amara. I should have ended her life when I had her in my grasp before she had hurt the woman I loved so dearly.
This was my fault, everything was because of what I had done, but I was willing to make everything right.
I dialed another number as my patience was wearing thin.
“Boss?” one of my men answered.
“Any leads on Casey?” I demanded.
very
“Not yet,” he replied, hesitantly, knowing
well that I did not want to hear unproductive news. “But we are tracing her whereabouts in the past days. We‘ 11 have her soon, boss.”
“Not soon enough,” I muttered, hanging

- up.
I leaned back in the seat, my chest heaving with anger and frustration. Matteo‘ s words echoed in my mind, and the weight of what Casey had done settled on my shoulders like a crushing burden.
Then suddenly, my phone beeped, and a message popped up. I immediately opened it and my stomach flipped, and my chest tightened, suffocating me with the image I received.
Amara.
It was a photo of her, in a hospital bed, unconscious and with several IV lines and tubes connected to her battered body. Her face was bruised, swollen, and cut, her lips. were busted, her arms were bandaged, as
well as her left shoulder which ran to her
chest and was covered by the hospital gown she was wearing. And on the other side of the bed, was a monitor flashing her
vitals.

Along with the photo was a message: “See what your bitch had done. Find her quick. and bring her to me if you want to see Amara again.”
I gripped the phone tighter in my hand as I muttered under my breath, “You‘ ve made your last mistake, Casey Tartt.”
