Scarlet guarded Felicia, retreating as she moved her blade. She slashed through the air with fierce precision. But despite her powerful attacks, the wolves kept trying to get closer.
From all directions, the wolves were attacking in a slick and cunning manner. That sharp fangs and claws were their weapons, and they were extremely ferocious
The group was surrounded by the wolves, and the situation was getting worse by the second. Felicia had no choice but to fire a shot. The bullet hit one of the leading wolves, and its attack was immediately disrupted, causing it to collage to the ground, twitching
With this show of force, the other wolves hesitated, clearly intimidated and less eager to charge forward.
Seizing this opportunity, Felicia began to lead the group out. Suddenly, a wolf howled loudly, and the rest of the pack followed suit. The valley echoed with howls, reverberating through the entire valley.
Felicia and Scarlet exchanged a glance, and without saying anything, they both began to run forward. The other three mercenaries followed quickly.
All the wolves gave chase.
Scarlet, in an effort to protect Felicia, was scratched by one of the wolves on her thigh, and fresh blood seeped out. The wound looked gruesome
Felicia threw a stone at a wolf’s head, knocking it back. She asked, “Can you keep going?”
Scarlet sed, unfazed. “It’s just a minor injury. Don’t worry about it.”
But continuing like this wasn’t a viable option.
Felicia hesitated, wondering if she should use a touch to dive the wolves back. However, she was worried that if the scattered flames from the torch spread through the wolves, it might set the mountain on tire. Hence, she discarded that idea.
During this moment of distraction, a scrawny wolf suddenly lunged at Felicia’s face. It was very close, close enough that Felicia could even smell the foul stench from its mouth.
“Watch out!”
Scarletted to help, but more wolves were attacking her, and she couldn’t afford to be distracted
Felicia was about to dice, but just as she was about to pull the trigger of the pistol, she heard a whistle from a distance. In the next moment, an arrow struck the wolf’s head, killing ir Instantly. The wolf fell to the ground and stopped moving
Felicia looked up and saw a team of people approaching.
At their lead was Michael.
He lowered his hand and smoothly replaced the arrow, shooting another wolf down in one swift motion
Michael made a gesture, and immediately, all of his subordinates pulled out their weapons.
With such well–trained and powerful support, the pressure on Felicia and Scarlet was greatly reduced.
Soon, the wolves that had been attacking realized they couldn’t win. After a brief struggle, the leader of the pack retreated, with the rest of the wolves following suit.
The surroundings became quiet again, with only the sound of the group catching their breath after the light.
Felicia bandaged Scarlet’s wound. Fortunately, the injury wasn’t deep and didn’t damage any bones. With Scarlet’s physical condition and her Panax pseudo–pinthera, the wound would heal In a few days without leaving a scal
After tending to the wound, Felicia turned to Michael “Thanks. But how did you all end up here?”
“We heard the gunshot and came, fearing that you might be in danger, Michael said as he glanced Felicia up and down before quickly averting his gaze.
He said calmly, “Since everyone is safe, let’s head down the mountain together.”
