James frowned slightly but regained his nonchalant demeanor and taunted, “Are you threatening me? Don’t think the company can’t function without you. If you want to leave, then just go. No need for any games!”
He didn’t care about it at all, believing Abigail was just playing tough.
Abigail stopped trying to explain and turned away. From this day forward, she had no ties to the Winchester family.
The turn of events was completely beyond Caroline’s expectations, and she was filled with triumph.
She had only intended to stir up some trouble for Abigail, never expecting her to resign voluntarily.
Although Abigail would be leaving after the cooperation with Envision Group, it wouldn’t be long before that happened.
The thought of that day approaching thrilled Caroline.
This scene didn’t escape Michael, who had returned to grab his lighter.
After leaving, Michael made a phone call to report what had happened.

Meanwhile, in the office on the top floor of Envision Group, Anthony leaned back in his chair, crossing his legs. He noticed a call from his assistant and raised an eyebrow at the man sitting across from him.
“There should be some updates regarding the contract with Winchester Group. Let’s hear it,” Anthony said.
Before the man could respond, he put the assistant on speakerphone.
This was a minor project that didn’t require Anthony’s direct involvement, but he still enjoyed a bit of gossip for his friend’s
sake.
Anthony’s assistant’s voice came through slowly, “Mr. Harrison, I’ve just received word from Mr. Smith that Mr. Winchester publicly slapped Ms. Winchester. He seems very unhappy with her being in charge of the Envision Group project.”
Anthony’s face fell, and just as he was about to respond, he heard a sharp crack.

Looking up, he saw that Marcus had crushed the glass in his hand.
Quickly hanging up the phone, Anthony said, “I didn’t slap her. Why are you taking it out on my things?”
It wasn’t that he cared about the glass; it was Marcus‘ terrifying expression that compelled him to say something to ease the
tension.

Anthony cursed James internally. Still feeling angry, he slammed the table and said, “James, what a bastard. He actually dared to hit your woman! What do you want me to do about it? I’ll definitely back you up!”
Marcus, filled with rage, replied coldly, “The news about Envision Group’s plan to develop a new district has spread everywhere. Has James been trying to cozy up to you lately?”
Anthony nodded, a serious look on his face. “Yes, but I want nothing to do with him. He’s extremely cunning and not nearly as capable as his father. I don’t want to partner with him at all.”
Envision Group had assigned the small shopping mall project to the Winchester Group because Abigail had secured it through her own effort.
However, the Winchester Group was clearly unqualified to manage a significant project like a new district.
Marcus took a handkerchief and carefully wiped the moisture off his hands before responding calmly, “Give him a chance.”
“Why…” Anthony asked, puzzled. “Aren’t you going to avenge Abigail?”
Why would he give James a major project? Wouldn’t that just be giving him money?
That was certainly not what Marcus was up to.

Marcus replied coldly, “People like James will leap at any hint of profit, without considering whether they can actually deliver. Once he thinks he’s achieved his goal, we’ll bring him down. hard. Doesn’t that sound interesting?”
As long as he dangled a little bait in front of James, he would undoubtedly take it, regardless of the risks.
When the moment was right, Marcus would ensure James was out of the picture.
By then, all of James‘ efforts would be rendered futile, causing him significant losses.
Once Anthony grasped Marcus‘ intentions, he secretly felt a pang of sympathy for James.
But James had no one to blame but himself; after all, he had offended Abigail, who was precious to Marcus.
With such a trap set specifically for James, it would be intriguing to see how he chose to respond.
