Chapter 33 Sleep Together
It was already past ten when they got home.
After changing into their house slippers, Abigail couldn’t help but think of the scene from last night, how she had gotten drunk and insisted on sleeping with Marcus.
A wave of embarrassment washed over her, and she couldn’t bring herself to look at the man beside her.
But he, as if nothing had happened, casually said, “It’s late. You should get some rest.”
Abigail was speechless.
She moved her lips, but before she could say anything, her face had already turned bright red.
Last night had been an accident. Honestly, she wasn’t really prepared to share a bed with Marcus.
She thought, “How should I bring up the idea of separate rooms?

I had just told him I wanted to settle down, and now I was already going back on my word…
Would Marcus think I was being insincere?”

For a moment, Abigail was filled with inner conflict and hesitation, gripping the cushion so tightly that it almost started to lose its shape.
After Marcus placed the takeout in the fridge, he came out and found her still sitting motionless on the couch. He knew exactly what was going on.
He thought, “She was struggling again, wasn’t she?
It seemed like it would take time for her to fully accept me.
Well, no rush. She already married me. No need to push her too hard. There will be plenty of chances down the road.”
With that thought, he poured Abigail a cup of warm milk and gently said as he handed it to her, “Drink some milk. I still have work to finish, and I’ve been working late recently. The study is close to the guest room, so I’ll sleep in the guest room tonight so I don’t disturb your rest.”
Hearing this, Abigail felt a pang of admiration for how hard Marcus was working, and at the same time, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
She took a sip of the warm milk, feeling it slowly warm her heart. Her expression softened, and she said with genuine concern, “Make sure you get some rest tonight. If you can’t finish your work, push it back. If it’s too much, maybe think about switching jobs. Don’t wear yourself out! I’m here to help with taking care of our home, so don’t put too much pressure on yourself.”

“Okay, I know. Thanks for looking out for me, my dear.”
Marcus smiled gently, and before heading off, he ruffled Abigail’s hair.
It wasn’t until he entered the study that Abigail came back to her senses. She instinctively touched her head.
She thought, “Why does it feel like Marcus sees me as a child?
He loves ruffling my hair so much.”
After finishing the milk, Abigail stood up and went back to her
room.
Once inside, she quickly noticed some changes in the master bedroom.
Her suitcase had been moved from the guest room, and the closet had been rearranged to make room for her clothes. There was even a new vanity table.
Her favorite skincare and makeup products were on the vanity.
It was clear who had prepared all this.
Thinking back to the table full of dishes she loved at dinner, now seeing these familiar beauty products…
Abigail couldn’t help but wonder.

She thought, “Is this all just a coincidence?
My skincare products aren’t from any mainstream brand, so how did he manage to get them exactly right?”

As Abigail pondered this, her phone, which was resting on the vanity, suddenly buzzed repeatedly.
She picked it up and saw that her followers had sent a bunch of private messages urging her to post new content.
[Why hasn’t the blogger updated yet? Didn’t she take two days off for her wedding? It’s already the third day!]
[I miss the blogger! Without her relationship commentary, I haven’t had a good meal in three days. My love–struck brain is about to explode. Please come back soon!]
Abigail slapped her forehead.
She thought, “Oh no!” She had been so busy these past few days that she completely forgot about the livestream she promised her followers after the wedding!
