Chapter 42 Soft Launch
Natalia’s words managed to lift Caroline’s spirits a bit.
However, as thoughts of Felix ignoring Abigail after their meeting crept in–especially his lack of concern upon learning she was pregnant–Caroline’s resentment towards Abigail resurfaced.
If it hadn’t been for their birth mix–up, Caroline believed she should have been the one to fall in love with Felix, not Abigail.
Not only had Abigail taken
barrier between Caroline, ver her life, but she was now also a
Felix.
With gritted teeth, a dark thought began to form in Caroline’s mind.
Meanwhile, after the live–streaming wrapped up, Abigail was feeling far from cheerful.
Thinking about Natalia’s obvious favoritism towards Caroline, she sighed and climbed into bed, ready to sleep.
But after lying there for what felt like ages, sleep eluded her; instead, she found herself increasingly awake.
Pulling out her phone, Abigail saw that it was already 11 o’clock in the evening.
Chapter 42 Soft Launch
Just as she was about to set her phone down and try to sleep again, a notification from Instagram caught her attention.
Curious, she opened the app to find an update from Marcus.
“Isn’t he supposed to be working late in the study?” she wondered.

Upon closer inspection, the post featured a person holding a marriage certificate with the caption: [Married. Let me be a part of your life for years to come.]
He was soft–launching their relationship?
Abigail had thought Marcus would want to keep their sudden marriage under wraps from his family, but here he was, being so open about it.
At the memories of their recent time together, the feelings of loss regarding Natalia faded away.
From now on, she had Marcus, and she was confident he would always be there for her.
Grinning at her phone, Abigail rolled over in bed, unable to suppress her excitement, and sleep was the last thing on her
mind.
Marcus‘ post was generating buzz among his friends, too.
Their comments came pouring in, filled with excitement and disbelief.
Chapter 42 Soft Launch
[Am I losing my mind? Is this really Fitz’s account?]

[His account must have been hacked! Or maybe he lost a bet!]
[Today is not April Fools‘ Day.]
[Fitz, why didn’t you invite us to the wedding?]
[This has to be a prank. There’s no way a girl would want Fitz!]
Anthony, who had been following their comments with amusement, chuckled. He crossed his legs and smugly replied: [You guys are so out of the loop.]
Despite his jealousy, Anthony felt a thrill in being among the first to know the news.
His comment sparked a flurry of responses: [Do you know something we don’t? Marcus was in Claudia recently. Is this serious?]
Marcus replied: [It’s true. We just got the marriage certificate today. Try not to be too envious.]
His tone was full of pride.
[Are you really married? Who’s the lucky woman? A princess, perhaps? She must be something special to catch your eye!]
[You went from zero to married in no time. Impressive, Fitz.]
Chapter 42 Soft Launch
Usually indifferent to such tease, Marcus patiently replied to each comment this time.
[She’s not a princess, but she’s the one I’ve loved for years.]

[I married quickly because I didn’t want to risk losing her to someone else. After all, my wife is way more popular than I am.]
Despite engaging with the comments, Marcus kept Abigail’s identity a secret.
As Anthony played the role of an insider, they turned to him for more info.
Eager to show off his knowledge but also respecting Marcus‘ desire for privacy, Anthony simply stated that Marcus‘ wife was beautiful, capable, and from Claudia.
Envy spread through the comment section.
[This isn’t fair. Marcus is already great. How did he end up with such a fantastic wife?]
[I’m booking a flight right now to see what this woman looks like and how she managed to marry Marcus willingly.]
Others quickly chimed in.
[I’m going too!]
[Count me in.]

[I can’t wait for a plane ticket. I’ll just take my private jet. Let’s
all go!]
