Chapter 62 Clung to Marcus
Pursing her lips, Abigail looked up at Marcus and asked, “Why are you here?”
Marcus looked at her and saw the nervousness and guilt in her eyes. He then suppressed his emotions and held her hand. “The elevator is out of use. I was afraid you’d get scared, so I came down to pick you up.”
Marcus entwined his fingers with Abigail’s, and his palm wast
warm.
Abigail thought, “Marcus is so considerate.” She let him lead her and walked into the dim staircase. The lights seemed to be broken and flickered. The sign’s green light added a touch of horror to the atmosphere.
Abigail felt a chill on her back and instinctively moved closer to
Marcus.
Noticing her movement, Marcus smiled and then held her hand tighter. He took the initiative to speak, “I had something to do at the company today, so I didn’t go to the hospital to pick you up. I’m sorry. I won’t let you come back alone in the future.”
Hearing this, Abigail felt even more guilty. She suddenly thought she had cheated on Marcus, such a considerate husband who had just apologized to her just because he hadn’t picked her
- up.

For a moment, Abigail felt very guilty and whispered, “I should apologize to you. I didn’t expect the surgery to be over so late. I forgot to call you to tell you this. You’ve been waiting for a long time, right?”
Marcus smiled, “Not too long. Charles called me and told me. that.”
“Are you very familiar with Charles?” Abigail asked with a puzzled look. She thought, “Marcus lived in Veridon before. How come he knows the director of Reginald Hospital?”
Marcus explained, “The company has cooperated with Reginald Hospital before, and Charles owes me a favor.”
Abigail nodded thoughtfully. It was normal for technology companies to cooperate with hospitals. However, thinking that Marcus had used such a big favor for her, Abigail felt even more guilty for a moment.
Abigail thought, “Marcus did so much for me, even considering that I’d feel scared to go home alone. How could I still hide something from him? Osborn is just my acquaintance from my school days, and there is nothing to hide.”
Abigail took a deep breath and was about to confess to Marcus when something crawled across the back of her feet. She looked down and saw a big black thing rushing out from her feet. It
was…
“Ah, there’s a rat!” Abigail screamed in fear, jumping and

clinging to the man next to her. She put her arms around Marcus‘ neck and clamped her legs around his waist, fearing that the rat would come out again.

Abigail was afraid of rats. She clung to Marcus as if he were her life–saving straw and trembled slightly in his arms.
Thinking that the rat had just crawled over her feet, Abigail even wanted to chop off them. She asked in fear, “The rat… Is the rat gone?”
Marcus put his arms around her waist and held her tightly. Hearing Abigail’s crying voice, he frowned and thought, “She is even more timid than I thought.”
Abigail’s warm breath hit Marcus‘ ear, making his heart start pounding. Marcus took a deep breath and held Abigail tightly. Blue veins stood out on his hands, and he said in a hoarse voice,
“No.”
Abigail did not doubt Marcus and hugged him even tighter. She said in a trembling voice, “You… Don’t put me down.” Then, she whispered in his car, “Hubby, can you carry me home?”
Her voice was soft. Marcus felt a sudden lust surging in his body.
