Simon abruptly stood up from the couch. “Now, this is about to get interesting Ignoring Caydence behind him, he lifted his foot and followed out. Finally catching on, Caydence quickly rose in his feet. “Wait for me! How can you enjoy the show all by yourself? Enjoying something alone is not as satisfying as sharing the joy with others.
Miranda’s face turned pale, her feet felt as if they were glued to the ground, unable to move. All she knew was that she had really messed things up for Mabel.
She was gripped by guilt, yet she didn’t know what to do.
If were to tell Ms. Mikayla, then I’d be done for. If Ms. Mikayla finds out that this whole mess is caused by my inulence, I’d surely not be able to work here anymore.
On one hand, Miranda was feeling guilty, but on the other, she was worried that she would have to suffer the consequences if that matter reached Mikayla. She was torn, struggling with indecision
In the end…
“Don’t worry, it’ll be fine. Mabel is just a janitor. Mr. Scott is merely angry, there’s no need to make things difficult for a janitor. Yes, things will be fine,” Miranda muttered to herself, constantly trying to convince herself. This self–deception eased her guilt a bit
Henry quickened his pace to catch up. Walking in front, Xavier suddenly turned around, his long leg drawing a sharp are through the air. That swift kick forced Henry to retreat. Then, he quickly stepped into the nearby elevator.
Henry wanted to go after them, but the elevator doors right in front of him shut tightly.
*F*ck! Unquenchable rage filled Henry as he had missed them just by a little. He slammed his fist against the elevator door.
Caydence and Simon indeed made good partners, arriving at the scene one after the other.
Caydence, never missing a chance to tease, couldn’t resist provoking Henry. “Holy sh*t, are you kidding me? The elevator has stopped at Level 281 Hey, Simon, look! What’s Xavier up to, bringing a janitor to Level 28?”
The lower six floors of the building housed an entertainment club, colloquially known as the nightclub. Only the rich and influential would spend money at Club Royale, and their tastes were naturally refined.
Anything above the sixth floor was the hotel.
As for why it was designed this way, anyone who wasn’t a fool would easily understand the reason without the need for more explanation
Simon’s eyes flashed with a mysterious glimmer, as he scoffed at Caydence, “A janitor is still a woman. What’s there to be so surprised about?”
The moment those words were spoken, Caydence couldn’t help but grumble. “Just how unique are Xavier’s tastes? Isn’t he a

shudder
“D“mn!” Upon hearing those words, Henry threw a punch at the elevator door once more. He then frantically started pressing the elevator’s up down buttons.
“Hey, Henry, you’re not thinking of chasing after them, are you? You might not know since you’ve just returned to the country, but the whole of Level 28 belongs to Xavier Without an access card, you can’t get up there.”
Henry’s face darkened.
The elevator moved at a startling speed, and following a ding, the doors slid open. Carrying Mabel, Xavier stepped out briskly, skillfully bypassing the living room and striding into the bedroom.
Bam!
Mabel felt a wave of blurriness wash over her sight, and in the next second, she found herself ruthlessly thrown onto a long. fur rug by Xavier. “Mmh!” Before she could even react, a sharp pain shot through her jaw, forcing her eyes open. Xavier’s

“Mabel, Xavier’s icy and unhurried voice resonated, sending a shiver through Mabel. “You’ve truly blown my mind today. I can’t believe the once proud Ms. Jennings would now beg for mercy, degrading herself to kiss a bodyguard in public. Tell me, if Zachary finds out about it, wouldn’t he be embarrassed: Zachary Jennings was Mabel’s biological father.”
Mabel’s body jolted, her face turning deathly pale in an instant. In the next moment, however, she remembered something. and retorted. “There’s no Mabel in the Jennings family. I’m just a prisoner.” She looked at the handsome face so close to her, a face she once yearned for in her dreams but now avoided like the plague.
“Mr. Scott, I’m just a prisoner. Please show mercy and overlook my offenses. She tried her best to suppress her fear of him, humbling herself as much as she could, hoping only for peace and survival.
What was dignity anyway? Having escaped from the depths of hell, finally able to bask in the sunlight, she couldn’t bear to let go of this hard–earned warmth.
Xavier narrowed his eyes dangerously, a storm of anger brewing within them. He couldn’t believe how this humble woman before him now was the same woman who used to pester him relentlessly in the past and passionately throw herself at him like a moth to a flame regardless of the cold shoulders he gave her.
Gritting his teeth, Xavier felt anger flaring up inexplicably. Even he himself didn’t understand why he was furious.
His eyes were icy cold, his sharp gaze locked onto her lips. There, a trace of Henry’s mark remained–when he forcefully pulled her away, Henry’s teeth had accidentally left a bite mark on her lips.
