Chapter 21 So Much Fun
Once again. Mabel lifted her head, blinking. Her smile grew wider and wider, revealing a set of pearly white teeth. Coupled with her exaggerated clown makeup, her smile became quite comical.
“This is fun! This is so much fun!” The scion laughed, calling out to the few people beside him. “Hey! Look at her. Doesn’t she look like an idiot?”
The heavy clown makeup concealed Mabel’s rigid smile as laughter and cheers echoed in the room. The scions were cackling and clapping, shouting to each other, “This is fun! Here, the money is yours.”
At that moment. Mabel was unsure whether to feel joy or soLLOW,
“Hey, why aren’t you picking it up? I already said it’s yours. Don’t you want it?” said the scion.
“I want it..she admitted with embarrassment.
“Just squat down and pick it up. Once you pick it up, it’s yours.” the scion said nonchalantly, raising an eyebrow.
Xavier was concealed in the darkness, his eyes darker than the deepest night. He watched everything unfold with an air of detached indifference.
Mabel lowered her eyes. Under the heavy clown makeup, her face was as pale as paper. However, it didn’t matter. In the dim light, she scoffed at herself. Money, what a wonderful thing. I can use it to buy my freedom with it, can’t I?
Three years ago, he sent her to prison, and from that point on, she was never free again.

Three years later, she was released from prison, only to have her freedom shackled once again by a five million debt he imposed. When she thought about all that she pursed her lips. No, I’ve promised to fulfill that naive girl’s dream! I won’t give up
Mabel crouched down, picking up the stack of bills on the ground. Just as she was about to stand up, the scion who threw that money to the ground laughed. “Fond of money, are you? I may lack many things, but money isn’t one of them. You’ve amused me today, so I have plenty of bills to reward you with
As he spoke, he threw wads and wads of cash into the air. Mabel watched in astonishment as the scion nonchalantly grabbed stack after stack of money, tossing it into the air in a carefree manner.
Mabel was stunned, wondering what the scion was doing
“Do you like it? I’ll give it to you” the scion said. “No need to stand up. I’ll give you a minute to pick up the money from the ground. Whatever you gather is yours. If you’re skillful enough to pick up every single bill from the ground, I’ll reward with an extra fifty thousand.”

In an unseen corner, Mabel’s hand was trembling. It wasn’t from excitement but from a pain deep in her soul! What should do? Should I pick them up or not? I heard before it’s a great thing to pick up money, but then why am I feeling so awful?
“I…” she said, instinctively wanting to reject the scion’s proposal. In the darkness, Xavier subtly grinned. I knew it. The proud Ms. Jennings indeed couldn’t abandon her dignity, enduring such humiliation.
“Will the money I pick up on the ground within one minute really belong to me? And will you truly grant me an additional fifty thousand if I succeed in grabbing every bill from the ground?” Mabel couldn’t bring herself to say no.
Suddenly, a scene from the past surfaced in her mind. She saw that simple, kind–hearted girl who was the only one nice to her in prison. The girl’s longing for her dreams on her deathbed flashed through Mabel’s mind. Consequently, against all odds, Mabel abruptly changed her plan Dignity? Do I even have any left? Right now, I have no family, friends, or a past. Only the present me remains. I don’t need dignity!
The scion chuckled. “Of course, I always keep my word.” A trace of mockery was evident in his eyes as he glanced down condescendingly at the clown woman
“Fine Mabel’s voice was raspy, far from pleasant to the car. Naturally, no one tried to listen for the sadness hidden within her words, Mabel crawled on the ground in front of everyone, picking up the money. Someone pointed at her, laughing and joking, “Lance, look. Doesn’t she resemble the dumb dog you keep at home?”
The boy who had tossed money to Mabel scoffed, “Are you blind? My Roke is a male dog.”
le dog.”
“Oh, right!” That person chuckled creepily. “Your Roke is a male dog, so this one must be a b*tch.”

The jeers and mockery of the scions reached her ears, but all she did was clench her teeth tightly, refusing to stop it caused her pain.
A few pink banknotes fell at someone’s feet. Without much thought, she crawled in that direction to pick them up. Suddenly. she heard the scion, Lance Leedon, laugh. “Hey! Bich, wag your tail. No money for you if you don’t wag it”
