Furrowing his brows, Xavier grinned devilishly. He spoke in an icy tone. “Ms. Jennings, you’ve truly opened my eyes today. Tell me, if your brother saw you now, begging pitifully for money and wagging like a dog, would he die of anger?”
You can’t do this! Instinctively, Mabel was about to blurt out those words. However, the sharp pain as her nails dug into her palm brought her abruptly back to reality.
Lowering her gaze, she dared not look at the mirror, fearful that through the reflection, he would be able to discern her true feelings.
“Mr. Scott, I don’t have a brother. I’ve killed someone, I’ve been imprisoned, and now I’m nothing more than an ex–convict forced to sell my dignity for amusement. How could the Jennings family ever have a murderer for a daughter?” said Mabel.
Xavier didn’t expect Mabel to utter such words. He was taken aback for a moment before smiling. “Mabel, I clearly underestimated you in the past. You’re quite ruthless. No wonder you could commit such a vile act back then.”
Mabel remained silent, head bowed, allowing his icy words to pierce through her heart and touch her soul. I’m ruthless? You were the one who drove me into a corner. Xavier!
“However, I can’t help but wonder about something. Underneath your shell that seems devoid of warmth or compassion, is there an equally cold heart within? Or is it burning with emotion?”
Mabel instantly stiffened because she felt Xavier’s scorching figure suddenly pressed against her back
A sudden tightening around her waist startled Mabel, causing her to shudder. Glancing down, she saw Xavier’s large hand resting on her lower abdomen.
Two buttons on his spacious coat were undone, and his large hand slid under her clothes. Mabel shivered again.
Xavier subconsciously furrowed his brows. Why is she wearing a sweater underneath her clothes during summer?
Puzzled, Xavier slid his hand into her shirt, lifting up her sweater, Overwhelmed with panic, Mabel didn’t have time to think. She cried out in shock! “Xavier!”
Xavier slowly narrowed his eyes, his voice cold as he asked, “What did you call me?”
Mabel’s shoulder trembled. “M–Mr. Scott.” She could feel a hand gently caressing her stomach under her sweater, her heart pounding with fear as the hand slowly moved toward her left side. It was getting closer and closer to the wound she was unwilling to reveal to others.
Mabel’s heartbeat quickened as Xavier’s hand moved beyond her waist.
“Mr. Scott!” she exclaimed.
“What are you doing now?” Xavier’s voice was laced with a hint of desire.
At that moment, Mabel’s mind was racing!
“Mr. Scott! Pay up” she demanded. “I sell my service, and since you’re engaging with what I’m providing by touching me, it’s only fair that you pay. Mr. Scott”
Listening to her speaking confidently, Xavier was reminded of the scene in Room 606 and that the woman he was holding had debased herself for money. Suddenly, the desire that had been stirred within him vanished without a trace.
Looking again at the woman in his arms, he felt an inexplicable discomfort. Uninterested in understanding why, Xavier attributed that strange feeling to his growing fondness for the woman he held.
Suddenly, Xavier released Mabel “Get out.”
Mabel scrambled out of the restroom in a hurry, not daring to pause for even a moment. She flung open the door to the changing room and left without looking back.
Inside the changing room’s restroom, Xavier exuded an aloof vibe so intense it could freeze one’s heart.
Mabel requested leave from Mikayla and hurriedly returned to the employee’s dormitory in Northbury Residences.

She said. “Things will get better tomorrow.

The next day, upon her arrival at Club Royale, Mabel thought it was odd that everywhere she looked, clusters of people were pointing and whispering about her.
Mabel didn’t pay much attention to that, assuming people were raising eyebrows about her transfer from being a janitor to the Public Relations Department.
However, after entering the Public Relations Department’s break room, she realized she had been too naive.
“Here comes the brich, someone sneered, causing Mabel’s face to pale. The person who was pointing at her nose and calling her a “b*tch” was someone she recognized. It was Luna, the hostess of Room 606.
“Ms. Luna, you don’t have to raise your voice. It’s not like we’re blind and can’t see that a b*tch just barged in,” said someone.
Luna laughed heartily. “None of you saw it with your own eyes. Last night, she was dressed like a clown and had awful. makeup on her face. Mr. Leedon made her crawl on the ground to pick up money, and she just did it. He told her to wag her tail, and she did that too. I was speechless when I saw it!”
Mabel felt her blood almost flowed in reverse.
Then, she blinked. Who turned off the lights? Why is it so dark? To the onlookers, Mabel was standing still with a horrified. expression. However, what they didn’t know was that the cause of Mabel’s expression was due to the complete darkness she was perceiving!
For a brief moment, she lost her sight, but her hearing became more acute. As such, she heard all the laughter and mockery of the surrounding female escorts and hostesses.
