A few minutes later, the door opened. Eleanor revealed half of her face as she stared blankly at Elijah.

Elijah said coldly. “The police will come for you later. Signing the settlement agreement will benefit your mother and Logan.”
Hearing him say this, Eleanor felt her breath quicken and a wave of sorrow wash over her. She bit her lip. struggling to keep quiet until she swallowed the taste of blood and all her grievances.
She had no choice. Even if she didn’t care about herself, she had to consider Lily and Logan.
She looked up and met Elijah’s gaze, smiling. “Okay, Elijah. Are you happy now?”
