Reborn on the wedding day, I let
my fiancé go to save Qingmei who was drugged
Chapter 1
It was my seventh wedding to Chad, and his
childhood sweetheart, Lily, had another crisis.
This time, she was dosed with a love potion
and only wanted Chad to help her.
I didn’t throw a fit like I used to, I just smiled
and nodded.
“Go ahead, then.”
Last time, I threatened to kill myself, forcing
Chad to stay.
く
Turns out, Lily couldn’t bear the thought of
being with another man, and tragically ended
her own life.
Chad didn’t blame me, instead, he showered
me with even more attention.
Then, when I was six months pregnant, he
locked me in a room with a group of
strangers, coldly watching them humiliate me.
“Don’t act all innocent,” he sneered. “Lily felt
just as awful back then. Did you give her a
way out?”
This time, I watched him rush to his
sweetheart, and called my best friend.
“I’ve thought about that international project,”
I said. “I’m willing to go abroad with you.”
“Really, Olivia? But aren’t you supposed to be
marrying Chad?” Wendy asked.
I was sitting in the empty chapel, still wearing
my wedding dress.
“Not anymore. Let’s focus on the project
first.”
Wendy was practically jumping for joy.
“Great, Olivia! Once you come to your senses
and stop being a doormat for some guy, we’ll
nail this project.
“So it’s settled? I’ll buy your ticket for next
week. No backing out!”
I smiled and nodded. “Deal.”
r
I’d been trapped in this cage of love for too
long.
I used to think if I held on long enough, Chad
would come around.
I was wrong.
Before leaving, I still had some loose ends to
tie up.
Like the marital home.
But as soon as I got home, I saw a pair of
black heels in the hallway, and another
woman was wearing my slippers.
“Chad, the pear juice you bought is so sweet!
I told you, too much sugar isn’t good for my
She turned and saw me standing in the hall,
and smiled.
“Oh! Olivia’s home!”
Chad came out of the living room and met my
gaze.
“Lily’s ex has been harassing her,” he said.
“He did that to her. It’s not safe for her to
stay in her apartment. You’re a girl,
understand?”
Before I could say anything, Lily rushed over
and grabbed my arm.
“Oh, Chad, don’t be silly! Olivia doesn’t mind
me being here! You’re exaggerating! Come on
in, make yourself at home!”
<
She was the guest, but she was acting like
she owned the place.
Chad just looked at her beaming face, with a
touch of fondness in his eyes.
“Olivia, you’re back! You won’t believe how
sweet the pear juice Chad bought me is.”
Lily sat on the couch, ordering me around.
“Go make dinner, I’m starving and Chad can’t
cook!”
“Hey, what’s wrong with my cooking?” Chad
teased, flicking her nose.
Lily pouted.

L
<
“Ugh! Your cooking’s always been awful!”
Watching them, I turned away.
“Sorry, I have things to do. Order takeout if
you’re hungry.”
I was planning to leave, and Chad bringing
people home was no longer my problem.
I went to the bedroom, ignoring their
confused looks.
Five years of memories with Chad.
Looking at the handwritten love letters, the
poetry I copied for him, and the old photos, a
pang of sadness hit me.
く
I packed all those memories into boxes.
“What was that all about?”
Chad opened the door, closed it, and looked
at me.
“She’s just been through something terrible,
and all I asked you to do was make dinner.
Why did you give her the cold shoulder? She
already feels guilty!”
“Cold shoulder?”
I was stunned, I hadn’t agreed to cook for
Lily. The thought made me feel a bit bitter.
I planned to move tomorrow, I didn’t want any
drama.
く
“Oh, I’m sorry. It won’t happen again.‘
He was taken aback.
This was the first time I hadn’t cried or
argued when he took Lily’s side.
“It’s not like that between us! I bought the
stuff to fix her up while I was on my way
there!”
Chad sounded annoyed. “Can you stop
thinking of us like that?
I didn’t say anything, just looked at the fresh
marks on his neck.
He touched them, frowning.
“The stuff doesn’t work instantly. She was
<
weak, what, was I supposed to let her fall on
the floor?
“We were just dealing with a crisis, I didn’t do
anything wrong. If there was anything
between us, what would be the point? Please
don’t come at me with this!”
I smirked, my voice flat.
“You’ve got it all wrong. I know you’re both
innocent.”
I placed the last gift I’d given him into the
box.
He was uncomfortable, grabbed my hand.
“Stop packing this junk! Lily’s upset. You…”
<
“What… what happened to you?”
“Oh, this?”
I opened the drawer, handing him a small jade
cat.
“Here, happy five–year anniversary.”
He froze, seemingly just remembering that
today wasn’t just our wedding day, but also
our anniversary.
He didn’t seem to have prepared anything.
“Olivia, I…”
“I know.”
smiled “It’s the

I smiled. “It’s the same day as the wedding,
it’s normal to forget.
“I made this myself. Take good care of it.”
His long fingers stroked the scars on my
hand, he clutched the jade cat, his eyes.
welling up. He pulled me into a hug.
“Don’t be so silly next time. I’m so sorry to
see you hurt like this, for something to give
me.”
“I’m glad you like it.”
“I love it, I’ll keep it forever. We’ll look at it
together when we’re old.”
I smiled. “Actually, I…”
r
“Chad!”
Lily’s shriek came from outside the door.
Chad immediately let go of me, rushing out.
“What’s wrong?”
I watched his anxious back, without tears or
arguments.
I wanted to say that we had no future, that
we wouldn’t grow old together.
The little cat was the period at the end of our
relationship.
Lily was fine, just startled by hot oil.
Chad immediately decided to take her out to
eat
<
That night, I packed up and moved into
Wendy’s place.
The next day, I got a call from Chad.
He said he had a five–year anniversary
surprise for me, at the downtown tower.
Wendy gasped.
“The whole tower was booked this morning!
They said they were holding a celebration for
a woman. Could it be you?”
I was surprised.
“Tsk tsk! Chad, he can be a real jerk, but
when he’s romantic, he really goes all out.
But…”
L
Wendy grabbed my shoulders. “You’re not
going back, are you? I already bought your
ticket!”
I laughed.
“No, it’s just five years. I have to end it right.”
That night, I put on the champagne dress I
wore the day we got together and went to the
scene.
The entire tower was gleaming, the dazzling
decorations showing how much the host
valued the woman of the day.
But when I looked up, the screen at the
center read:
[Happy 26th Birthday. Lily!]
“Olivia, this celebration was originally for
you.”
Chad came up to me.
“But it’s Lily’s first time seeing something like
this. She’s a little sad.
“You know, she grew up with nothing, no one
even celebrated her birthday. I couldn’t bear
to…”
I looked past him at Lily in the center of the
crowd.
She was wearing a small jade pendant around
her neck.
She was holding it up for everyone to see,
“Everyone’s given me so many surprises, but I
think Chad’s jade cat is the best!”
Seeing the pendant that was just like the cat
I’d carved, I gasped.
My hand tingled where I carved the jade cat.
My eyes burned, I turned to leave, but Chad
grabbed me.
“Olivia, she stole the cat, I didn’t mean to give
it to her! It’s her birthday, let’s not argue.”
“Let go!” I said.
“Olivia,” he hugged me tighter. “I’m sorry… I
know you really want to marry me.
<
“And I know you’ve been upset about Lily
interrupting every wedding. I’ve already
prepared a wedding in Italy. We can go there
in a week and get married, okay?”
He held his phone up.
His assistant had sent a video of the grand
ceremony that was waiting for us.
Just need two leading roles to come and have
a lifelong commitment.
“Don’t worry, just you and me. Lily won’t be
there.”
Chad held my hand, his eyes earnest.
“This time, we’ll never be apart.”
Г
I lost it. “Chad, I actually came here to…”
“Watch out!”
An employee shouted. “That light’s falling!”
The chandelier above suddenly broke loose.
Before I could react, I heard Lily.
“Ah! Chad!”
In that instant, Chad suddenly let go of my
hand and pushed Lily out of the way.
The chandelier shattered at my feet, I fell
heavily onto the shards, curled up and let the
glass rain down on me.
“I ilv? Are you okay?”
<
Chad held Lily, who was cowering in his arms.
It wasn’t until the employee gasped that he
realized.
He looked at me, his face panicked.
“Olivia!”
Chad’s voice was anxious, he went to pull me
up, but I pushed him away.
“I’m okay.”
“Olivia… you’re bleeding.”
I was covered in cuts from the glass.
In the past, I would have lost it, demanding
why he’d saved her and not me.
く
And Chad’s eyes showed he was ready for me
to flip out.
But I just waved, got up on my own, and
limped toward the lounge.
Chad tried to help me, but I dodged him.
“It’s okay, I’m fine.”
Chad frowned.
He gave an employee a look, seemingly
wanting them to pick me up.
But as soon as his hand touched me, Lily
called out.
“Chad…”
He turned, Lily was sitting on the ground,
shivering.
His hand stopped. Chad told the employee,
“Take care of her.”
Then he went to Lily, picked her up, and
walked away.
Where Lily had been sitting was a broken jade
cat.
The broken cat was still smiling adorably.
As I left, I heard Chad’s friends scolding him.
“Lily wasn’t even in danger! You should have
taken care of your girlfriend first! Aren’t you
afraid she’ll leave you?”
“Lily wasn’t even in danger! You should have taken care of your girlfriend first! Aren’t you
afraid she’ll leave you?”
“Her?”
Chad said, “She’ll be begging me not to.”
I didn’t say anything, and turned and left.
But a week later, the wedding was set up, but
I was nowhere to be found.
Chad frowned.
“How can she miss this? Find her! Don’t leave
any stone unturned!”
