Chapter2
To make Irvin trust Marta, I had to stage an accident.
After briefing Marta on her task, I took her to the mall, using my credit card to buy her some suitable clothes and give her a stylish makeover.
With her new look, Marta transformed, now giving off the air of a wealthy woman.
As we left the mall, I handed her a set of car keys.
“Porsche! Isn’t all the money with Irvin? Where did this car come from?” Marta asked, astonished as she held the keys.
“Rented.”

In truth, all our money had always been under Irvin’s control.
I had no money of my own.
When I ran into Joseph at the car rental, it was a chance encounter.
Years had passed, and he was even more handsome now, his youthful innocence replaced by the confidence of a man.
He had returned from overseas and opened a luxury car rental business.
When he saw me, he seemed a little confused, thinking he had mistaken me for someone else.
He laughed and teased, “If we hadn’t grown up together, I wouldn’t even recognize you.”

I had originally planned to use the living expenses Irvin gave me this month to rent a car, but Joseph said that after all these years, he didn’t want my money.
The car was successfully rented.
“If this car gets damaged, how much would we have to pay?” Marta asked, looking at the car keys with concern.
“Don’t worry, I have my ways”
I smiled and led her to the car.
As I opened the car door, I suddenly spoke up: “By the way, Marta, that name doesn’t sound like the name of a rich woman. From now on, you’ll be called Cora.”
I sat in the passenger seat, following the

navigation and directing the route.
Marta, with both hands on the steering wheel, frowned. “Are you sure this road will lead us to Irvin?”
I nodded. “Don’t worry.”
The biggest advantage I had in this revenge plan was all the years I spent getting to know Irvin.
Every day after work, he takes this road.
It’s a quiet, open road on his way home, and not many cars pass through here.
Sure enough, as we turned onto the small road, I saw Irvin’s car in the distance.
The timing was perfect.

I crossed my arms, took a deep breath, and said, “That’s the car. Let’s crash into it.”
