Chapter 4
We were like sisters, even closer than real siblings, and spent time together with ease and joy.
So when she asked if I would be her older sister, I thought about it for a moment before agreeing.
I genuinely liked Mina. Perhaps it was because she had a sunny personality, or maybe because we had some similarities–I had always thought of her as my little sister.
What happened between Luca Bennett and me had nothing to do with her. My personal emotions shouldn’t burden her.
I couldn’t bring myself to resent her. I knew very well that I had no right to blame anyone.

Love often makes people lose their rationality, and I didn’t want to be one of those people.
“Really?! I’ve never had siblings!” she
exclaimed.
“Hannah! I’m so happy!”
At five in the afternoon, Mason Grant knocked on my door as usual.
At that time, Dora would always be happily wagging her tail, waiting by the door.
At first, Mason Grant wasn’t used to it, but now he’d easily pat the little dog’s head and say, “You’re here to greet me again, huh? Such a good dog.”
Every time this happened, I couldn’t help but

drift off in thought.
It felt like we were back four years ago, when we were still together.
He’d come home, and the first thing he’d say at the door was, “Honey, I’m home,” followed by those same words.
A bittersweet ache settled in my chest.
Everything that once was… can never return.
Since Mina accepted me as her older sister, she began addressing me as “sis” instead of just “Hannah.”
On a day off, Mina asked me not to cook dinner. She said she wanted to introduce me to her friends during the dinner gathering.
Her friends were all lively and cheerful, and

the dinner table was full of energy.
One of them glanced at me, then at Mina, and suddenly said, “Mina, I feel like you have some of Hannah’s traits. Some of the little things you do are just like her.”
“Didn’t you used to complain about your hair being too short? I think the length Hannah has would suit you perfectly.”
Her words made me reminisce.
I used to have short hair. Later, my job got too busy, and I didn’t have time to care for it. I just got used to tying it up in a braid, and over time, it grew into long hair.
Suddenly, the girl hugged my arm and affectionately leaned on my shoulder.
“Of course! We got along so well from the

start. How else could I call her my sister?”
At that moment, someone brought up Mason Grant.
“At first, he didn’t even know his own name. He was cold and distant with everyone.”
“Mina tried so many times to make him soup, but he just threw it away, didn’t even say a word. And he made her cry a couple of times. Honestly, I wanted to slap him across the face back then.”
She took a sip of her drink and chuckled as if remembering something amusing.
“Later, Mina got upset and distanced herself. Would you believe it? He regretted it and came crawling back, begging for
forgiveness.”

“You should have seen it. On a snowy day, he stood outside holding a bouquet of flowers, waiting from dusk till dawn. He was crying, too. Such a schemer.”
I didn’t realize that the amnesiac Luca Bennett had such a side to him.
I quickly gulped down a large sip of wine, trying to suppress the overwhelming wave of bitterness and sorrow inside me.
After a few rounds of drinks, I stood up and went to the bathroom.
Maybe I’d drunk a bit too much because everything started to blur, and I didn’t know what time it was anymore.
As I stared at the man in front of me, with familiar features, I mumbled softly and happily, “Luca, you came to pick me up.”

“Hannah, where’s Mina? I’ve come to take her home,” two voices echoed at the same time.
Oh, he wasn’t here for me.
The effects of the alcohol wore off almost immediately.
Of course, how could he be here for me?
I had long since lost him.
“Hannah, what did you just say?”
I quickly shook my head and led him to find Mina.
I followed behind, greedily watching his familiar silhouette. This was the only thing that could bring me a little solace.

After making sure the girls were safely in the car, he carried Mina on his back and walked off.
The girl was clearly drunk, raising her arm and tightly clenching her fist, slurring her words as she shouted.
“Mason Grant! Flyyy~ I’m flying home!”
The man let out a soft laugh, indulging her playful antics.
“Alright, I’ll fly Mina home.”
