Chad laughed.
“I found out things weren’t how I imagined
with Tiffany. She was a spoiled brat who
would get mad at me unless I said yes to
buying her a new designer bag.”
“Ashley, it’s terrible without you.”
“I miss you every night, every time I had a
dream I was hoping you would be in it.
Ashley, I miss you a lot!”
I was quiet while he was talking, then asked,
“So? Why are you telling me this?”
Chad looked like he was about to say
something when his phone rang.
He looked annoyed.
“Tiffany, I said I was going home. Can you
stop?”
That was Tiffany calling.
I could hear her shrill voice on the other end.
“Chad, don’t think I don’t know why you went
back to see Ashley. You’re a fing idiot! You
ran back to f Ashley!
“I’m your girlfriend! Can you give me some
Chad frowned, sounding cold.
“Tiffany, stop. Our parents have been friends for years. We always spend New Years
together. So it was a little surprise for me to
see Ashley.”
I heard Tiffany screaming while Chad was
blaming everything on her.
It reminded me of Chad.
I shook my head and opened the bedroom
door.
Chad grabbed me, forgetting Tiffany on the
phone.
He looked at me, pleading.
“Ashley… can we… can we go back?”
I raised an eyebrow, grabbed his phone, and
hung up on Tiffany.
“No, Chad.”
“You know me. I’m picky.”
“From that day in France, when you let
Tiffany say whatever she wanted, you should
have known we were done.”
