I begged him, “Let me go.”
He froze in place, looking at me in disbelief,
never thinking that I would reject him.

pestered me, chased me for five years, now

anymore?” He asked me with red eyes, as if I
was the ungrateful person.
“I dare not.” I shook my head, “I have nothing,

I had been on the verge of collapse for a long
time.
I hugged myself and hid in the corner,
thinking that I would be safe this way.
Kevin kept closing in, I looked at him in fear,

I found a kind of quiet with him that I’d never
known. Calm, peaceful, safe.

Without anyone else interfering, we were
almost like a real couple.
But happiness is always fleeting. Two days
later, Kevin showed up again.
Ryan stood in front of me, acting as my
shield. “Isn’t your wedding the day after

with. You two need closure.” Ryan stepped

Kevin put a gift box on the floor and got
down on his knees.
“Xia Zhi, I messed up. I ignored you. But you
can’t just give me the death penalty for that. I missed a few calls, okay? You chased me for
five years. Can’t you let me chase you now?
Just give me one more chance.”
“Xia Zhi, I’ll be waiting for you at the wedding.
If you don’t come, I won’t get married. You’re
the only one for me.”
Then he just left, not even giving me a chance.
