I saw their messages once, by accident.
“Mark, you’re the best. Pam’s lucky to have
you.”
“She has the perfect life. Great family,
amazing boyfriend. I wish I had that.”
And Mark fell for it. He had to be her big
brother bringing her lunch and water

My best friend heard about the break–up and
said we needed to celebrate. Her bright smile
made me feel good.
“Seriously, I hated that Mark. You haven’t
hung out with me since you got together.
Being love–blind is a disaster. You’re the

have a moving company bring the rest. But
Mark, for Ashley, was going to sell it behind
my back.
I walked in. Mark looked guilty at first, then
switched to surprised. “Pam? What are you
doing here? Why haven’t you answered my
calls? I… I was going to talk to you about this
later.”
Smack!
I slapped him. Mark looked like he couldn’t
believe it.
Г
Ashley ran over to check his face. “Pam, how
could you hit him? What did I do to deserve
this?”
Smack!
The second one landed on Ashley’s face.
“Hitting you was just a bonus.”
My friend cheered. People in the s
