Ace brought me to a party, and the place was
already bumping.
When they saw me, all the rich kids just went
quiet and looked at Liam.
“Willow! You’re here! Do you remember me?
I’m your college roommate, Brittany!” Brittany
says, snuggling up to Liam.
Ace leads me to a seat, and I shake my head
く
“Sorry.”
“That’s okay, we can all get reacquainted.”
Brittany wraps her arm around Liam’s and
leans against him.
This former college roommate, now friend,
was all over Liam, acting like she won
something just because I was supposedly
suffering from amnesia.
Liam was loving the thrill of getting cozy with
another woman right in front of my face.
“Yeah, it’s great that both of you are dating
someone in the same friend group, who
needs memories, right?”
く
“We can all hang out all the time, whether you
remember or not.”
The other friends were all making these
knowing comments, like they were enjoying
watching someone getting played.
Everyone kept playing games.
Liam and Brittany were eating the same
biscotti, getting closer and closer to kissing.
“Kiss! Kiss!”
Everyone was chanting.
Liam and Brittany went in for a deep kiss.
Brittany leaned into Liam, and she shot me
く
this smug look.
Liam wrapped his arm around Brittany.
Then I lost a game and had to pick someone
to kiss for thirty seconds.
Everyone went silent, wondering who I’d pick.
Would I instinctively go for Liam?
Liam seemed tense and avoided eye contact.
He didn’t want me to suddenly “remember”
him.
Ace tensed up too.
I smiled.
く
“I’ll kiss my boyfriend, of course.”
