Mark clenched his fists.

“She could cook, she cleaned, and she was
happy. She was good, but I loved Sarah.”
“I hurt Abby.”
He was crying.
“You can’t get it back.”
Grandma Willow said.
I didn’t know what they were saying.
“Abby.”
“I got engaged to make Sarah jealous. But I
fell in love with you.”
“Can I start over?”
L
Mark asked.
He was crying.
I didn’t care. “I don’t know you! Leave me
alone!”
I went upstairs, angry.
Mark was in the temple, and he was praying
in front of Mary.
He brought me tulips every morning.
After four days, I went to the temple.
“Abby.”
“You’re here!”
Mark was happy, but he fell.
“Leave. You’re bad luck. No one will come
here.”
I said.
“Abby, you don’t know me? This is our
padlock.”
Mark showed me the padlock.
“That’s not true! I’m telling you! You’re bad!”
I said.
A temple with a crazy guy wasn’t good for
business.
“We used to date. Wait, let me find the
pictures.”
Mark grabbed his phone, but he looked sad.
“No pictures? Why?”
He coughed and passed out.
I called 911.
My parents, Sarah, and Mark’s parents came
to the hospital.
“You’re terrible! You tortured Mark! You
chased him, and you broke up with him?”
Sarah yelled at me and touched Mark.
“Sarah!”
<
My parents said.
Sarah argued, “You’re taking her side?”
She wanted everyone to be mad at me.
“Abby, tell me! You’re hurting my son! You
made him cancel the wedding, and you
almost killed him! Why?”
Mark’s mom asked.
“No explanation, and we’re done!”
Mark’s dad said.
“I don’t know him.”
I said.
