Chapter 36
As soon as Steven realized things were getting out of hand, he shot Anders a frantic look, signaling him to delete the surveillance footage. But Shawn caught that exchange. A sly smile crept across his lips as he spoke, ‘Mr. Chapin, I suggest you think this through. I’m with the Haney family from Wavecrest. Who do you think would dare tamper with the footage
want?”
At Shawn’s words, the room fell into stunned silence. The Haney family was legendary. They were real estate moguls and hotel tycoons, boasting a fleet of ocean liners. However, the men in the Haney family had a reputation for scandalous private lives. The current family head, Calvin Haney, had five wives.
Yanina hadn’t expected Shawn to be from the Haney family, thinking. No wonder Cameron warned me to stay away from him. Wait. I’m thinking about Cameron again. She pushed thoughts of Cameron aside, trying to wipe him from her memory.
Anders was regretting his decision now. Had he known Shawn was involved, he would never have chosen a side so quickly. But looking at the flabbergasted Christina, he realized there was no turning back.
The cop was beginning to feel out of his depth. He clearly shouldn’t have gotten involved; this was a battle of giants, far beyond the ability of an officer to handle.
“Well, it looks like I’ll need to take everyone down to the station to fill out some reports,” the police officer sighed with resignation.
“Wait! Yetta, since Shawn’s assistant isn’t here, you should take him to the hospital for examination and treatment,” Yanina urged.
After saying this, she turned to the police. “You should follow me to the surveillance room first and check the tapes.”
But Shawn shook his head. “I’ll go with you. I’m not letting this group bully you while I’m not around.”
Yanina chuckled lightly. “Don’t worry. I can handle these clowns Yetta, make sure to take him to the hospital. Shawn’s injury
can’t wait.
Shawn frowned, clearly not thrilled that Yanina was insisting on doing things herself. “Alright, just make sure to look after yourself,” he said, as he left the room with Yetta’s assistance.
Christina nervously glanced at Steven. Steven whispered reassuringly to her, “Don’t worry. The footage from this private room is already deleted.
Feeling a bit more at ease, Christina still couldn’t shake the feeling of dread. “Are you certain it’s all gone? Did you clear the recycle bin too?”
“Don’t worry,” said Steven.
After hearing this, Christina lifted her chin defiantly. “Since everyone wants to verify things, let’s do it. Afterall, Mr. Chapin can vouch for me.”
They entered the surveillance room. As expected, the footage from that day was nowhere to be found. The security guard in the room sheepishly scratched his head. I’m really sorry, officer The equipment might be broken. I didn’t notice it since we have way too many private rooms, and it’s easy to overlook things.”
Yanina had already anticipated this outcome and couldn’t help but scoff, “It’s funny how the equipment breaks down right when something happens. What a coincidence,”
Cliristina pointed at Anders. “If the surveillance is down, we have to rely on witnesses. Shawn’s word doesn’t hold any weight. You two are too close; what if he decides to back you up?”

Chapter 36
Steven threw an arm around Christina, talking to Yanina. Instead of trading barbs, you should think about what happens when you get thrown in the slammer. Without the Zamora family’s help, do you think you can just walk out!”
Yanina stared at these two preening peacocks, silent and unyielding.
They exchanged glances, thinking Yanina was afraid, their lips curling into smug smiles.
“Shawn’s suing you for assault; he’s got the Haney family behind him. Yanina, you’re done for this time!” Christina sneered.
“The one Shawn specifically named in the lawsuit is you, not me Yanina shot her a disdainful glance.
“So what? You splashed the water, What good does it do for him to sue me? If you think you can prove that, show me the evidence!” demanded Christina
“As you wish!” Yanina replied, sitting down at the console in the control room and typing quickly. The screen, for a moment,
went blue
“Don’t mess everything up! If you break the club’s surveillance system, you’ll have to pay for it! The security guard hurried to stop her.
But Yanina remained unshaken. She looked at the officer and said. I can recover the data; just don’t let them disturb me.” Then, she typed in a sequence of code, and soon, the data began to restore itself. A minute later, everything was back to
normal.
The officer couldn’t help but show his surprise. “Miss, you know how to do this?”
Yanina shook her head. “A friend taught me a bit, I only picked up the basics, but restoring surveillance is a piece of cake.” The officer rolled his eyes, thinking, ‘Many people make a living off those basics.
Yanina extracted the footage. On the screen, Christina was seen fiercely throwing a bowl at Yanina, but Shawn had stepped in and blocked it. Most of the hot water splashed onto Shawn’s shoulder. When Yanina flung her arm in defense, there wasnt much water left to spill. Shawn got hurt while stepping in to save her
After reviewing the surveillance footage, the police officer’s expression turned complicated as he looked at Christina. “Ms. Zamora, please come with me to the station for some questioning. Ms. Fulbright, you’ll need to join us for a statement as
“Perfect. Shawn is accusing Christina of intentional harm, and I want to accuse Mr. Chapin of falsifying evidence, Yanina said coldly, fixing her gaze on Anders.
Realizing things were about to take a turn for the worse when he saw Yanina restore the video, Anders awkwardly began to shuffle toward the duor, looking for a way to escape. But Yanina word’s pinned him in place, leaving him with a forced smile. “Officer, the lighting in the room was pretty bad. I couldn’t see clearly. What’s this about falsifying evidence?”
The officer shot him a sideways glance. “You didn’t see clearly but still chose to smear an innocent person? That’s slander. If the involved party doesn’t press charges, I won’t interfere. But if they do…” He looked over at Yanina, making it clear that the ball was in her court. If she decided to press charges, everything would be dealt with according to the law,
“Ms. Fulbright, my old eyes must have deceived me. Anyway, we still need to work together on that short film. If anything goes wrong, the sponsor will be displeased. Even at this moment Anders’s words dripped with veiled threats, showing no
sign of remorse.
Yanina turned to Anders, saying, “Didn’t you say you could change the lead actress? If the lead can be swapped, then surely the director can be replaced too.
Anders gritted lils teeth. “Who do you think you are? If you crosme, no director will work with you ever again!”
