- 7.
Beaumont stormed in, his face thunderous.
“Amy, you’ve been lying to me! You’re not a
virgin!”
Amy’s legs buckled; she almost fell.
“Alex, please believe me, I am.
وو
“Don’t lie! I heard everything!”
Beaumont clenched his fists.
“If your sister hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t know
what a disgusting woman you are. I’m
breaking off the engagement!”
“No!”
Mom appeared, terrified.
“Mr. Beaumont, my older daughter is jealous.
She’s lying to you.
“Yes, yes!”
Amy chimed in.
وو
“Anna said I’m pregnant. Should I believe her,
Alex?”
Beaumont seemed to hesitate.
I spoke quickly. “If you don’t believe me,
check tonight. Is she a virgin or not?”
L
Amy panicked, but recovered. “During the
exam, she broke my hymen! She wanted to
ruin me!”
“What?”
Mom rushed forward, hitting me. Beaumont
looked ready to have me beaten.
“Wait!”
I shoved Mom away, and looked at them
coldly. Beaumont, a rich kid, was gullible. “I have proof!”
Fear flickered in Amy’s eyes. She grabbed
Beaumont’s arm.
“Alex, don’t believe her! She’s jealous. Let’s
get married. If you find out I’m not a virgin
tonight, I’ll leave.”
