Callie smiled sweetly as she slowly stood up, personally pouring a glass of red wine for Cameron. But as she filled the glass, she dipped her pinky nail into the wine, which she then gently brought to his lips. “Cameron, let me feed you this wine as a thanks for making my life complete.
Cameron instinctively leaned back, frowning deeply at Callie’s bold gaze. He accepted the glass, took a sip, and elegantly wiped his lips with a napkin.
Callie took the opportunity to wrap her arms around Cameron’s neck and settled on his lap.
Cameron’s body stiffened. It had been months since his divorce from Yanina, and he hadn’t touched another woman since.. He didn’t see himself as a saint, yet he found that he was completely unresponsive to Callie.
‘Could it be that something is wrong with me? No, when I faced Yanina in Yvale, I’d almost lost control several times, he thought.
“Callie, let go,” Cameron said in a low voice.
“No. I want to be a little reckless tonight. Can’t you carry me to my room?” she insisted.
Cameron pulled her arms from around his neck. “Stop fooling around,” he said, pulling her up, ignoring the tears in her eyes and her pursed lips.
“Cameron, is it because I’m not pretty enough? Callie asked sofily, her voice shaking.
“Callie, you’re beautiful, but I’m sorry. I just don’t feel anything for you, Cameron replied, turning to leave. Just as he took a couple of steps, a wave of dizziness hit him, and he stumbled slightly.
Callie’s lips curled into a smirk as she quickly dashed in front of him, her previous softness gone.
Cameron frowned, suspicion flickering in his eyes, but before he could think more, the dizziness intensified, and his eyelidy grew heavy.
A nearby waiter rushed to help, supporting Cameron as they took him to the room.
Cameron was laid onto a soft bed, while Callie gently locked the door behind her. Turning back, she looked at Cameron. “Cam? Cameron?” she called out.
She stepped closer to the bed, a triumphant smile crossing her face. He will ultimately belong to me. After tonight, there will be more nights like this, and once we have a child, the entire Everbright Group will be mine!‘ she thought in excitement.
With this thought, Callie swiftly shed her long dress, her slender figure exposed to the moonlight, glistening with a healthy glow. Slowly, she began untying Cameron’s tie and the buttons of his shirt.
When Callie’s hand brushed against Cameron’s belt, a warm hand suddenly clasped hers, flipping her over and pinning her
down onto the bed.
“You’re not fainted? Callie exclaimed in surprise.
But soon, she gazed deeply into Cameron’s eyes and couldn’t help but murmur with a hoarse voice, “Cameron, I love you.” Cameron suddenly laughed, but it was a cold laugh. “You love me so much that you would go to any lengths, even using underhanded tactics to possess me? That’s not love but obsession, he thought to himself.
Besides, Callic looked fiery and alive just moments ago, definitely not like someone on the brink of death.
Callie sensed the shift in the atmosphere. She widened her eyes which filled with a hint of grievance, as tears rolled down

her cheeks. Her chest rose and fell, and the pink lingerie underneath her shirt peeked through, adding a hint of allure to the scene. “I just hope there’s more of you in my life,” she said..
Cameron didn’t say anything further. He simply stood up and slowly buttoned his shirt, not sparing Callie a glance before
turning to leave.
Callie wasn’t about to let this opportunity slip away. She nimbly jumped off the bed and wrapped her arms tightly around Cameron from behind. ‘Cam, you’re the only support and anchor I have in this world. Please don’t go! Don’t leave me! I truly want to have a baby with you. That way, even if I’m not here one day, there will still be someone to be with you.”
Cameron held the doorknob with one hand while softly patting the back of Callie’s hand with his other. “A child without a mother will always lack love. It’s unfair for the child, and it’s unfair to me too. I’ll pretend today didn’t happen, but I don’t want a repeat of this. I hope you keep your promise and return for treatment in a week.”
Cameron looked at the woman who had once saved his life, letting out a soft sigh. Without a hint of hesitation, he opened the door and left.
Back in his room, he hurried into the bathroom, splashing cold water on his face to chase away the dizziness. Luckily, he had only sipped a little wine earlier, so the effects of the drug weren’t too overwhelming. He had struggled to keep his wits. If he had completely passed out, God knows what would’ve happened with Callie
Just then, Yanina’s face flashed through his mind–their memories together, her soft, flawless skin that felt like a baby’s, and the warmth that always made him want more. As he thought about it, he glanced down at himself, made sure there wasn’t any problem with his body, and finally couldn’t help but curse.
Once he emerged from the bathroom, the first thing he did was grab his phone and open WhatsApp to text Yanina. But a bright red exclamation mark flashed on the screen. She had blocked him.
Confused, Cameron dialed her number, but it didn’t connect. Not only had she removed him from WhatsApp, but she had also blocked his number. Frustrated, he called Zak.
Meanwhile, Zak had just wrapped up a busy day.
Following the “reporters blocking the entrance” incident, the security of the South Haven Apartments had come under serious scrutiny from the residents. He’d just overhauled the property management staff and calmed the owners‘ nerves. Just as he was catching his breath, Cameron’s call came through.
“Mr. Zamora? It’s about time your phone came back online,” said Zak.
Cameron didn’t have time for pleasantries. He quickly asked, “What’s going on with Yanina?”
Zak muttered in his mind, ‘So now you care about her? While you were gone, photos of you and Callie had already gone
viral online.
