Chapter 66
As he spoke, Cameron moved closer to Yanina and grabbed her band. Yanina didn’t resist.
“Why don’t you stay for dinner tonight? Your parents have gone abroad, your aunt has returned to Wavecrest, and Christina is rarely at home. The house feels so empty, Carl sighed. The large villa felt vast and lonely with just him there.
“Alright, Cameron nodded. Yanina had no objections either.
Yanina walked up to Carl, smiling “Grandpa, how about I play agume of chess with you?”
“Great!” Carl’s interest was piqued, and with a wave of his hand, the butler, John, quickly set up the chessboard.
As Carl and Yanina played chess, they chatted. “Yani, my grandson is always so busy, never having time to take care of you. Sorry about that,” Carl sighed.
“Grandpa, you’re joking. Of all your grandchildren, you value Cameron the most, and you’ve always wanted to focus on nurturing him.
“The busier he is, the more it proves how successful your guidance has been, Yanina replied with a smile.
Carl laughed heartily. “You clever girl, you really know how to make me happy”
Cameron didn’t leave but instead went to the coffee table and started brewing coffee.
Carl glanced at Cameron, his eyes filled with a bit of affection. That’s how it should be!
“Spending time with family and your wife is more important than socializing outside.”
“Yes,” Cameron nodded
Yanina glanced up at Cameron, finding it hard to believe that he could have such a “well–behaved” side.
After a round of chess, Carl emerged victorious, thoroughly enjoying himself. Cameron, however, could tell that Yanina had deliberately let Carl win. She did it so subtly that she even anticipated Carl’s thoughts beforehand, guiding him into making the right moves, all while letting him think he had the upper hand. This woman is becoming more and more intriguing he thought. She was like a book, with something new every time he turn a page. Cameron even began to wonder if there was anything in this world that she wasn’t capable of.
“Mr. Zamora, dinner is ready. Do you want to eat now?” John inquired.
Carl glanced up authe wall clock. It was almost eight o’clock. “Yes. The group moved to the dining room, with Carl seated at the head of the table as usual, while Cameron and Yanina sat beside him.
“Recently, Cameron hired a chef specializing in light cuisine. Yanina, try it and see if you like it, Carl said, smiling as he pointed to the dishes on the table.
Yanina glanced at the food, noticing that half of it was light dishes. Her eyes reddened slightly. Ever since she came to the Zamora family, she had been feeling like an outsider. When she first arrived, Carl had asked what she liked to eat, and she had said she wasn’t picky and would follow the family’s preferences.
The Zamora family, being native to Yvale, had a heavier taste, with rich and savory flavors that Yanina wasn’t used to. She often just ate the green vegetables. Carl, unaware that she wasn’t accustomed to the taste, thought she preferred vegetables and specifically instructed the kitchen to prepare more vegetarian dishes whenever she dined with them. Today’s light cuisine was another thoughtful arrangement by him. “How is it? Tasty? Carl asked, looking at Yanina with concern.
“It’s delicious,” Yanina nodded, then gently said, “Grandpa, you should also eat lighter in the future. These dishes are just perfect for you as well.

“Alright! I’ll listen to you,” Curl smiled happily, nodding in agreement.
Suddenly, her phone rang. Yanina glanced at the screen. It was Yetta calling.
“Grandpa, I need to take this call. Yanina excused herself from the table and answered the phone.
“Let me go! You jerks! Ugh… As soon as the call connected, chaotic sounds and glass shattering could be heard. “Yetta is in trouble! Yanina thought.
“Yetta Where are you?” Yanina asked anxiously, but there was no response, only more chaos. Half a minute later, the noise finally quieted down..
Then a man’s voice came through the phone. “Are you her friend?”
Yanina took a deep breath, calming herself before speaking slowly. “What do you want?”
The man sneered. “Your friend broke my bottle. Bring money and come get her. With that, the man hung up.
Yanina returned to the table, looking worried. Grandpa, my friend’s in trouble. I have to leave.
Carl’s expression stiffened as he turned to John. “Send someone to follow her.”
“No need to trouble Mr. Miller, Grandpa. I’ll go with her, Cameron said, standing up and walking to Yanina’s side. Cameron drove while Yanina sat in the passenger seat, and the two left the Zamora residence.
In the car. Yanina spoke up. “When I answered the call earlier, it was really noisy. There must have been over a dozen people
there
“You should call in some bodyguards. I’ll cover the cost, Yanina said, looking over at Cameron.
Cameron frowned, Does she have to keep such a clear separation between us? he wondered. “Alright! But today, the bodyguards are going to be expensive,” he said.
“Fine!” Yanina nodded.
Cameron drove quickly, and in just ten minutes, they arrived at the Weekend Bar. Worried about Yetta, Yanina rushed in first. The bar was chaotic, loud, and not the kind of place Yetta would normally visit. What on earth has happened today?” she wondered
Yanina searched the main hall but couldn’t find Yetta, so she went to check the private rooms. After kicking open three or four doors, she finally saw Yetta in a dimly lit room, being stomped on by a blonde–haired young man. Her face was covered in blood, a horrifying sight.
The group of thugs in the room whistled and eyed Yanina provocatively when they saw a beauty had entered.
The sight of Yetta’s injuries filled Yanina with rage. Clenching her fists, she stepped onto a coffee table and leapt at the blonde, delivering a solid punch to his eye. Then she landed a vicious kick between his legs, and as the man doubled over in pain, she followed it up with a downward elbow strike to his
spite.
The blonde screamed in agony, collapsing to the ground. The other thugs rushed toyintervene, but before they could Cameron and the bodyguards had already arrived. They had the entire gang of thugs beaten and sprawled on the floor.

Yanina gently helped Yetta up, her heart sinking as she saw a deep cut on one side of her face, clearly from a sharp object. The other side was swollen, and her clothes were torn to shreds, barely covering her. Looking around at the shattered glass on the floor, Yanina quickly pieced together what had happened. This group had tried to assault Yetta, and she had fought back with everything she had, leaving her face injured in the struggle.
Yanina’s eyes reddened as she gently comforted Yetta, “Yetta, don’t be scared. I’m here now. Don’t be afraid!” Unable to hold back any longer, Yetta clung to Yanina, sobbing uncontrollably.

canina picked up a shard of glass from the floor and, with a swift motion, slashed it across the blond thug’s face. A scream of agony filled the room as blood gushed out. “Does it hurt? Yanina asked.
