Chapter 122
Yanina wondered just how busy a deputy mayor could be to neglect his daughter’s education this much.
Sophie stepped out from behind a tree in a red dress, looked at Carl with a bright smile, and sweetly greeted. “Mr. Zamora!”
There was not a hint of her earlier arrogance.
Carl didn’t know who Sophie was, so he turned to look at Yanina
He asked, “Who’s this lady?”
Yanina said casually, “Mr. Zamora, she’s the daughter of the new deputy mayor, Sophie Foley.”
Carl gave a slight nod, showing no interest in talking to her. Then he continued to walk forward.
Sherman was even less concerned.
He was never interested in fame and certainly didn’t want to associate with the deputy mayor. He yawned and continued walking.
But Yanina couldn’t stand Sophie’s rudeness.
She said. “Sophie, someone who doesn’t respect others will never gain respect in return, and that has nothing to do with status or identity!”
Sophie shot a glance at Yanina.
She heard Cameron was here, so she traveled all the way here just to meet h
him.
She originally wanted to use this opportunity to make a good impression on Carl, but when she heard Sherman belittle the lake that her father designed, she couldn’t hold back anymore and then scolded.
She didn’t expect Yanina to take the chance and embarrass her in front of Carl.
“Alright. I’m a country bumpkin indeed. She was right. People can say whatever they want,” Sherman said as he stepped
forward
Yanina snorted coldly. Since Sherman didn’t want to cause more trouble, she’d do as he wished.
They ignored Sophie and passed by her.
Sophie reluctantly watched them walk away. She stomped her foot, and then finally decided to follow behind them.
She said, “Mr. Zamora, I have something to tell you. Can we talk in private?”
When Sherman saw Sophie wanted to have a private conversation with Carl, her hostile gaze toward Yanina made him realize something. He snorted and looked at Carl with sarcasm.
Sherman said, “See? You said Yanina didn’t suffer? Look at the woman your grandson has attracted.
Humph. I told you Yanina wasn’t interested in him!”
Hearing Sherman’s words, Sophie felt a little embarrassed.
Sering Yanina holding Sherman’s arm, Sophie thought that Sherman must be Yanina’s poor relative.
Her eyes showed even more disdain.

Chapter 122
Yanina glanced at Sophie and caught her disdainful gaze, finding it quite amusing
She really had no idea where Sophie’s sense of superiority came from.
“Ms. Foley, we have other things to do and no time to mess around here. Please move away,” Yanina said coldly.
Sophie was aiming at Yanina. Seeing that Yanina spoke up before Carl said anything, she couldn’t hold back her anger
anymore.
Sophie said. “Vanina, who the hell do you think you are? I’m talking to Mr. Zamora. Why are you interrupting?”
Yanina chuckled. “You were the one who rudely interrupted us first! Besides, Mr. Zamora wasn’t talking to you. You’ve been talking to yourself the whole time.
Tll say it again. Move away!
Yanina’s last words were spoken word by word, making sure Sophie understood.
Carl nodded in agreement and said to Sherman, “Outstanding young men will always attract admirers, but Mr. Zamora won’t take all admirers.
“Our Zamora family isn’t a shelter that takes in all kinds of people.
Carl was talking to Sherman.
But in fact, he was telling Sophie about that.
Cathy stood behind Carl, glanced at Sophie, and lowered her head. She murmured in her mind, I’m not here. You can’t see
Cathy’s father was in charge of the finances of Yvale. Her maternal grandfather was a well–known judge who had handled several international cases, and her paternal grandfather was the secretary of a provincial committee. Her family was a political family.
Cathy had met Sophie a few times.
But she didn’t have a good impression of Sophie and preferred to keep her distance.
Now was a particularly embarrassing moment for Sophie.
Cathy really didn’t want Sophie to know she was there, too.
Otherwise, the next time they met, they might end
up as
enemies.
Luckily, most of Sophie’s attention was on Carl, and she didn’t notice Cathy.
Sophie said, “Mr. Zamora, about the land in Yvale…
She stepped forward, trying to grab Carl.
But Yanina quickly blocked her path and gently pushed her aside.
Sophie stumbled back a few steps and then fell onto the lawn.
She shouted, “Yanina, how dare you push me?!
“Mr. Zamora, I was gonna discuss the land in Yvale with you!
“How dare you block my way, you shrew!”

Chapter 122
After Sophie said that, Carl said calmly, “Yanina, that wasn’t right Haven’t I taught you the right attitude in doing things
before”
Sophie thought Carl was going to scold Yanina and immediately got cocky.
She thought, ‘Businessmen are profit–driven indeed. My dad has the authority over land bid invitations.
‘Mr. Zamora surely won’t offend me for Yanina.
“Mr. Zamora, you have to make her apologize to me Sophie urged.
But Carl didn’t even look at Sophie. He continued to speak to Yanina, “Haven’t I taught you that if you wanna hit someone, you have to hit that person hard. You have to hit her hard enough to make her remember the pain the next time she wants to bully you again!
“Look how kind and merciful you are. I’m so worried.
As Carl said this, he waved his hand, and two security guards immediately showed up. They lifted Sophie and dragged her
aside
Sophie was completely stunned by Carl’s words.
She thought that once she mentioned the land, Carl would realize how important she was.
Joining forces with her would not only allow the Zamora family to compete for the land but also gain more benefits..
Then it would be easier for her to marry into the Zamora family
But Sophie didn’t expect Carl to be like that. He defended Yanina regardless of Everbright Group’s interests.
She thought, ‘How did that bitch bewitch Mr. Zamora?
Yanina glanced at Sophie, whose face darkened, and shook her head.
She said, “Mr. Zamora, you’ve offended the deputy mayor’s daughter”
Carl didn’t mind it at all. “They’re nobody”
Cathy couldn’t help saying, “Mr. Foley has a pretty good reputation, but his wife and daughter are holding him back.”
“It’s like you can face the big boss easily, but the underlings are a pain. We’re out to relax, but there’s always some annoyance ruining the vibe!” Sherman snorted.
He looked at Yanina and asked with concern, “Do you always have to deal with these idiots?”
Yanina shrugged. “She’s just popped up recently!”
Sherman looked at Carl again. “Good thing I came along, or I wouldn’t have known about all the hardship Yanina has gone throught
“Is that how you took care of Yanina, idiot?
If it weren’t for you promising better schooling conditions back hen, I would never have left Yanina with you.
“Look at the mCAT
Carl just smiled at Sherman’s accusations.
He said, “It’s my fault. I didn’t take care of Yanina well. How do you want me to make up for it?”
Yanina quickly stepped in to smooth things over.
She said, “Mr. Harnett, you’ve misunderstood it. I’ve been doing really well in Yvale all these years. Mr. Zamora treated me like his own granddaughter, even better than his real one.
This situation is not his fault. Don’t blame him.”
Yanina implied that it was all Cameron’s fault and had nothing to do with Carl
