I realized then that true love doesn’t require twenty years of waiting. A fleeting connection could be genuine, too. When
the right person came along, marriage and children all fell into place naturally. There was no endless waiting.
Originally, the Lambert Family had planned to hold the Xander brothers
accountable for the incident at the bridal boutique. Then my mother, for Auntie Xander’s sake, intervened. She did, however, make sure the Lambert Family would keep a tight guard to make sure that the Xander brothers would never bother me again.
Life returned to its peaceful rhythm, with our wedding preparations proceeding as planned.
Yet, I did not account for one factor, which was Lucy.

I did not know how she found out where to find us, but when Luke and I returned from our wedding photoshoot session, she suddenly appeared and knelt before me.
“Leslie, I was in the wrong. Please, forgive me. I shouldn’t have been so foolish to compete with you, nor should I have ruined your relationship with the young masters….”
From her tearful confession, I gathered that after I left, the Xander brothers suddenly became infatuated with me again and treated her far worse than before. When Auntie Xander discovered that Lucy and her mother had been secretly selling off her family’s possessions, she was furious and filed a lawsuit against them.
The same Xander brothers who had once sided with her did not say a word to defend her. They let Lucy’s mother go to jail, while Lucy lost everything.
“Please,” she begged while holding at my leg. “Help me by saying a good word to

Before she could even touch the hem of my dress, the guards dragged her away.
Luke who was silent the entire time, looked at her as if he was looking at a piece of trash.
Then he took my hand and said calmly, “Let’s go home.”
“Alright.”
For me, anything related to the Xander brothers was unworthy of my attention.
I only took a few steps when suddenly I felt dizzy. The world went dark and I collapsed into Luke’s arm.
When I finally woke up, I was in the
Lambert Family’s old mansion. Almost everyone from the Lambert Family had gathered here.
Grandma Lambert’s face beamed with a big happy smile. “This is a double blessing. I

knew you were a lucky one. You are carrying a child so fast. Then she exclaimed, “I can’t wait even for a day for a wedding party. Quickly, transfer my two gold mines to my granddaughter–in–law to make sure she has a peaceful pregnancy!”
I met Luke’s tender gaze. Then as it dawned. on me that I was carrying a baby, I touched my stomach. There was a new life growing inside of me. My life was finally complete.
Amid the joy and laughter, my wedding took place.
The Lambert Family invited all the prominent figures from all circles of life. They spared no expense to throw a grand wedding of the century for me.
In the dressing room, my mother kept looking at me, sometimes smiling with relief, sometimes crying with bittersweet. emotions. “Auntie Xander asked me to apologize to you on her behalf. There were things she only realized after it was too late

“It’s alright. It’s all in the past now,” I comforted her.
Those painful pasts were behind me. At this moment, it could be said that we finally reaped what we had sowed.
Mother nodded. After she fixed my veil, she held my hand as we walked toward the wedding hall.
Halfway there, I saw the Xander brothers. being detained by the bodyguards. They were still struggling and refusing to leave, even though they had been beaten until black and blue.
When they saw me, their dull eyes brightened.
“Leslie!”
“Leslie, you can’t marry him! We know we were wrong! Lucy was the one who wanted the Xander Family’s wealth!”
