take care of her.
With no one else around, Sophia dropped her hypocritical facade and walked to my bedside. Her finger traced along my waist as she smiled, “This kidney will soon belong to me.”
I looked at her and coldly uttered two words: “Homewrecker.”
Sophia snorted lightly. “In relationships, the one who isn’t loved is the third wheel. Blame yourself for being a toad lusting after swan meat, inserting yourself between Lucas and me.”
I looked at her seriously and said, “It’s not too late to leave now, otherwise you’ll face retribution.”
“Retribution? I’ve never believed in such things. But I should kindly remind you, you only have less than a day left to live,”
Sophia smiled mockingly, looking at me like a victor.
“I’ve bribed Dr. Ethan Reed who will perform your surgery. You’ll die on the operating table.””
“And both your kidneys will be mine. Lucas will be mine too.”
I turned my head indifferently.
Sophia didn’t know.
I couldn’t possibly die on the operating table.
Because the person performing the surgery was my own brother.
After Sophia finished talking to me, she went out to find Lucas. There were many security guards outside, so I had no chance of escaping.
The next moment, the door was pushed open, and a gentle–looking man walked in.
But having grown up with Ethan, I knew very well that his gentleness was just a facade, and he was actually a serial killer.

He walked to my bedside, looking at me with pity.
“Why didn’t you answer when I called you a few days ago?”
Thinking of that phone call from a few days ago, I shuddered.
After coming to this city, I had changed my phone number. The reason Ethan could call me was that he had already found me, but I hadn’t realized this at the time.
“Brother…” I looked at him obediently, afraid that he might kill me one day, “I was wrong. I shouldn’t have run away from home.”
“It’s good that you know your mistake.”
Ethan’s hands, used for holding surgical scalpels with distinct knuckles, gently caressed my face.
“Brother won’t blame you, but those two bastards… brother needs to deal with them for you.”
“Oh, and Mom and Dad miss you too. I’ll take you to see them in a bit.”
With that, he walked out without waiting for my reaction.
In the afternoon, I was wheeled into the operating room.
After being anesthetized, everything went black, and I knew nothing more.
When I woke up again, it was in our family’s villa.
As soon as I opened my eyes, a gentle and graceful face leaned close to mine.
“Oh, Aria’s awake!” She happily held my hand, her voice full of concern, “You’ve been away for two years, you must have suffered, haven’t you?”
The woman before me was my mother. No one would imagine that this elegant lady could chop a person’s bones with just a few strokes. When I was at home before, she often helped dispose of the bodies after my brother and father’s killings in the dead of night, even grinding the bones to make soup for my father.
“Aria, how should we deal with those two outside?”
My sociopathic father stepped forward, pushing his gold–rimmed glasses. If one hadn’t heard what he just said, they might have thought he looked somewhat scholarly.
My father discovered he was a sociopath after high school and stopped formal education, but he self–taught many things. According to my brother, he had recently been studying the ten most cruel tortures in ancient China.
“Don’t discuss these things in front of Aria. She’s timid and soft–hearted. You’ll scare her,” said my brother, who had always been gentle towards me, as he walked out with a faint smile on his face.
Although my brother wasn’t a sociopath, he had loved everything related to blood since childhood. When I was young, the small animals I raised would mysteriously disappear, and later I found dissected animal corpses in his study.
He was a graduate student at a top medical university in the country, but no one knew that he was more skilled at killing than saving lives.
We had a soundproof basement at home. Over the years, I had lost count of how many people my brother and father had killed in that
basement.
However, they only killed those they deemed as “bad people.”
For instance, they now considered Sophia and Lucas as had
For instance, they now considered Sophia and Lucas as bad people who had bullied me.
During dinner, I saw Sophia and Lucas.
They were brought up from the basement, their feet chained together with an iron ball attached to the end of the chain.
They no longer had their previous high and mighty demeanor. Sophia looked even paler, her eyes devoid of any emotion. Her dress was torn, and her skin bore dozens of different wounds – burns, whip marks, and more. She looked terribly tortured.
Although Lucas had no visible injuries, his expression was dazed, as if he had lost something important.
Because their feet were chained together, they walked very slowly, stumbling along. When they finally reached the dining table, my brother rested his chin on his hand, his beautiful eyes smiling at them.
“Don’t you two love being together? I’ve chained you together. Do you like it? Now you’ll never be able to leave each other.”
A flash of terror crossed both Lucas and Sophia’s faces.
When they looked at me sitting expressionlessly at the dining table, their gazes no longer held their previous arrogance, but fear and trepidation.
“Eat up,” my mother said, serving the dishes and then bringing a special dish for Lucas and Sophia.
Upon seeing what was in the plate, Lucas turned pale, while Sophia turned her head and vomited.
I also frowned, feeling a bit nauseated.
Although my parents had tortured people before, they had never used this method.
I looked at my brother, and seeming to notice my confusion, he raised his eyebrows and casually pointed at Sophia.
“She seemed to really like that thing,” he said. “When I was following you, I accidentally saw them check into a hotel. She was on her knees, licking that thing.”
I couldn’t bear to look.
“He was almost dead, but luckily, with my superb medical skills, I saved him,” my brother said with a pleased smile on his face.
Just then, as if having made up his mind, Lucas pleaded with me, “Aria, please let us go. I can give you all the money I have, and I’ll listen to you from now on. Please spare us.”
As soon as Lucas finished speaking, my mother snorted coldly, “Aria is soft–hearted. Even if she forgives you, I won’t!”
“That’s right,” my brother said, eating his meal leisurely. “Rather than begging for mercy, why don’t you two think about which one of you should die first?”
“Ethan.” Sophia seemed to realize my brother had more say, so she tried to force a pleasing smile and said to him, “Please let me go. I can do anything for you. I can be your slave, make you happy…”
To stay alive, Sophia had thrown away all her dignity.
Lucas looked at Sophia in astonishment, as if seeing her for the first time. “Sophia, what are you saying!”
Sophia closed her mouth and said no more.
