Chapter 6
Tia was alarmed and turned to Matteo helplessly.
“Honey, help me out here! I don’t have that much money!” she cried. “Even if we don’t have any certification to prove it, we were still married in a ceremony! You and Gina never even went that far! Why don’t you just pick me instead?”
Why? Because she couldn’t give him what my family and I could.
I laughed scornfully. “Thank you for bringing that up. It warms my heart to remember that I’m not married to this asshole.”
Matteo ignored Tia completely and nervously straightened his shirt. “No, we can’t cancel that wedding… I’ve invited all my family and friends! I will be embarrassed–I mean, the McPherson family will be embarrassed!”
Suddenly, a voice roared from the door, “Who the hell cares about you?!”
It was my dad, Luth McPherson, one of the board of directors at Loboto Inc. He usually looked severe, but now, he appeared downright stormy.
The police had left, feeling their job was done, and the room grew quiet, save for the occasional sounds of people breathing
My father strode toward my bed and checked on me. “Don’t worry, sweetie. Daddy’s here.”
He turned sharply, his scowl directed at Matteo like a thrown knife. “You useless waste of space! You can’t even be a decent live–in son–in–law?!”
Matted trembled and collapsed onto the floor, kneeling “Please, I know I was wrong, Dad! Please give me one more chance to make things right!”
“I am not your dad, you brat!” My father sent him rolling with a forceful kick. “You don’t deserve my precious daughter”
He took a document that Vivian handed to him and slapped it onto Matteo’s face.
“From now on, you’re no longer the CEO of Loboto Inc., he announced icily.
Tia’s face turned pale. She stared at Matteo in disbelief
What does that mean?! No longer the CEO?! Huh? Huh?!” she shrieked. “Didn’t you tell me you’re the heir to the company!!
I looked at her, half–smiling ‘The only one who will inherit Loboto Inc. has always been me. This guy was always just a gigolo at best.”
My father waved, and the bodyguards immediately grabbed Matteo and Tia, hauling them out of the ward.
For the next few days, Matteo acted like a rabid hound. He spammed me with calls, texts, and direct messages. At one point, he even tried to bother me in the hospital.
He disgusted me, so of course, I blocked and blacklisted him.

My father avenged me by punishing Luxury Palace Hotel. As soon as news broke of him pulling out of his investment, every other investor followed suit. The hotel lost its funding immediately.
The business crumbled. The owner begged for help, to no avail. He came to my father, almost on his
knees.
“Please, just give us another chance! I won’t let it happen again!” he pleaded.
My father glared at him. “Another chance? My daughter miscarried in your hotel under your watch. How do you compensate for that?”
The man’s face turned pale. He was finished.
The hotel was later auctioned off by the bank. Now, only a dilapidated building remained.
The greedy, unscrupulous owner himself later filed for bankruptcy.
