Chapter 9
Matteo held his cheek, showing no reaction to my slap. He merely continued trying to explain, “I only rent this house out for Tia! I didn’t mean to lie…”
His spineless attitude disgusted me.
I snatched Tia’s phone and glanced at the camera, adjusting my hair.
Then, I affected the cutesy voice of a VTuber. “Hello, everyone! What am I going to do? Your queen says the house belongs to her, but now that I’m here, she claims she rented it!
“It’s all she says, she says now… Who will you believe?”
The comment section exploded with enthusiasm.
[Oh my god, this is my rich, gorgeous mommy! Step on me!]
[That was a good ass slap, queen! This is some high–quality dramatic twist, I swear!]
[Mr. Brando is here to be a clown! Woo!]
I snickered and turned to my lawyer. “I’m suing Tia Lydic for illegal squatting.”
The lawyer nodded, ready to prepare the case.
Suddenly, Tia leaped to her feet and snatched the document from my hands. She ripped it to shreds and looked at me smugly.
I chuckled. “Also, I’m suing her for destroying my legal document out of malice.”
The lawyer, shaking off his initial shock, nodded. “Got it, Ma’am.”
Matteo yanked Tia away, shouting at her, “Do you know what you’ve done?! You fucked me up! Goddamn it! You ruined my life!”
Tia froze, stunned by his sudden fury. She stood motionless for a while, her eyes filling with tears.
Sobbing, she quivered, “How could you say this? I’m doing all of this… for you!”
“For me?! My ass! You’re doing this for yourself!” he screamed. “You and your shitty vanity!”
Tia suddenly shrieked, then lunged toward the dressing table. After rummaging through it for a moment, she pulled out a pregnancy test result and hurled it at him.
“I’m pregnant, goddamn it! You’re the father! You have to take responsibility for this!” she snarled.
I clapped and smiled sarcastically. “Congratulations. We have the Internet to witness this good news, too. Unfortunately, I don’t run a charity… so get out of my place right now!”
“I’m not going anywhere! My husband gave me this house!” Tia shouted, sounding like a Karen in a
meltdown. “I even have his baby, you skank! I’m gonna sue you for trying to marry my husband while we’re still together!”
Matteo’s face went pale. His eyes darted between Tia and me.

Then, as if he had made a decision, he suddenly grabbed Tia by the collar and dragged her out of the
room.
“What are you doing?! I’m pregnant! Let me go!” Tia struggled, terrified.
Matteo ignored her, continuing to drag her across the house. She slammed into the table, the bench, and even the walls. Finally, he threw her hard onto the floor.
Tia hugged her stomach, howling, “My baby!”
Blood began to ooze from her.
Matteo showed no concern. He laughed. “I don’t even know whose baby this is! You killed our baby. This is your just desert!”
I inhaled sharply. God, I was so glad I hadn’t married a madman.
He suddenly turned to me, his eyes glassy, his voice unnaturally gentle. “See, Gina? I avenged our baby…”
He reached out to take my hands, but the crowd shielded me.
The police arrived shortly after and quickly apprehended Matteo.
Half a month later, Tia went to trial. She was fined a million dollars for the damages she had caused and sentenced to five years in prison.
Matteo, facing charges for white–collar crime as a CEO and for battery, received an eight–year prison
sentence.
Their lives were doomed, but mine had just begun.
Even without him, I was still thriving!
