Chapter 5
I was called up to do my makeup at four or five o’clock this morning. That was why, when I was sitting in the wedding car, I felt drowsy.
“Ms. Lynch, we’re here.” The driver in the front seat called me.
I opened my eyes with great difficulty, my vision still hazy and found the car door wide open.
What caught my attention first was a large, well–defined hand extended toward me.
Curiosity sparked within me as I wondered what Seth, the man rumored to be aloof from women, truly looked like.
But before I could lift my gaze, a clear and gentle voice interrupted my thoughts.
“Take my hand.”
Almost instinctively, I placed my hand in his, the warmth of his touch grounding me

as he helped me out of the car.
Outside, a sea of people awaited us. The crowd, buzzing with energy, was no surprise, after all, it was the wedding banquet of the richest man’s son.
I could not help but scratch my ear nervously, the weight of their gazes pressing down on me. Just then, Seth’s calm voice broke through my anxiety.
“Don’t be afraid.”
I straightened my back immediately, unwilling to let him think I was timid.
Shaking off the grogginess from my nap, I replied confidently, “Afraid? No. It’s just a marriage. Living together is the thing that might scare me.”
Seth froze for a brief moment, clearly caught off guard, but I did not give him a chance to respond. Boldly, I grabbed his hand and led him onto the red carpet.

ceremony began, I finally got a clear look
at Seth’s face.
My first reaction? What a waste of
resources.
He was stunning, with broad shoulders, a trim waist and long legs that looked even more striking in a perfectly tailored suit. His chiseled features were framed by sharp cheekbones and a jawline that could cut glass.
‘Such a pity that a man this handsome doesn’t like women,‘ I thought to myself.
Then my eyes wandered to his peach. blossom–shaped eyes, brimming with an inexplicable warmth and down to his thin, perfectly shaped lips.
Suddenly, his lips moved. “Have you seen enough?”
Caught red–handed, I quickly averted my gaze, heat rushing to my cheeks.
