Chapter 8
“Do you really want to sacrifice your own happiness and be with this homosexual? We clearly love each other, but there are just some misunderstandings between us. Do you really want to gamble your future?”
I said coldly, “You misunderstood, we were never in love, I don’t love you anymore.”
Darrel shouted, “Sylvia, do you really want to say such hurtful words?”
Since everything had come to an end, I would make things clear with him, “I’m just telling the truth?
“When you were in the company, the workers around you directly called Ashley the boss lady and you never refuted it.

second and you went to comfort Ashley the
next.
“When I made a wish for my 28th birthday, the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was not you wishing me a happy birthday, but a dialog box on your phone screen in which you were chatting animatedly with Ashley.
“If I hadn’t swallowed my disappointment all these years, I would have chosen to leave you since then. But staying with you any longer would have only made me feel like a fool, a loser clinging to someone who never truly saw me.”
I thought I had made myself clear enough, but he still persisted.
“If Ashley wasn’t your sister, I would never be so partial to her. Besides, she was born in a poor family, can’t I take care of her?”
“Don’t let yourself be moved. I have a lot of sisters who were born in disadvantaged

circumstances. Why don’t you try to move them then?” I argued.
“Don’t make excuses anymore, Sylvia. I finally managed to save both of you from suffering. I have achieved the goal with you, can’t you hold on a little longer?”
He thought he had arranged everything, but he never thought that if the marriage contract between the Hudson Family and the Charlie Family was not fulfilled, it would damage the reputation of my Lynch Family.
The current business situation of our family was not very good and that was just rubbing salt into the wound.
But Darrel never saw it that way. Perhaps he never truly paid enough attention to me.
I looked into his eyes and said word by word, “Darrel, we are over. I have chosen to be with Seth. There is no possibility between us anymore. Please stop pestering me.”

“No!” Darrel suddenly felt a surge of
anger and looked at Seth with eyes full of hatred.
“It’s because of you. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have to help Ashley out. If it weren’t for you, I would be able to spend the rest of my life with Sylvia.”
He rushed forward and actually wanted to punch Seth.
“What are you doing?”
Darrel grew up in a poor family. In order to avoid being beaten, he learned a lot of self- defense skills.
Later, when he started my own business, in order to keep my body energetic, he would exercise for two hours every day.
So, an ordinary strong man was like a crispy chicken in front of him.
I saw that although Seth was nearly 190cm tall, he was so thin and tall that he
probably could not stand Darrel’s attack.

I could no’t help but scream, stepping forward instinctively to stop Darrel, but Seth swiftly intervened with a single wave of his hand, effortlessly dissolving Darrel’s advance.
Darrel, clearly stunned, frowned and attempted to charge again, but Seth seemed to anticipate his every move.
With precision, he used a few well–placed strikes, swiftly knocking Darrel to the ground and dislocating his arm.
Before Darrel could react further, a group of bodyguards rushed in and pinned him down, rendering him immobile.
Seth glanced back at me, a hint of concern in his eyes, as if worried about how I might react to the scene unfolding before me.
