I spent three days in the hospital without saying a word, staring blankly at the ceiling.”
When I got home, the first thing I did was install a camera in Jane’s room.”
Eric refused to sign the divorce papers, leaving me no choice.

I was still awake, thinking about hiring someone to check the water and electricity at the new place the next day.” Eric called out to me, but I didn’t answer.
Soon, I heard his hushed voice. “Jane, slow down.“/
“I don’t care. I can’t help it.“”
Disgust welled up in me, almost making me vomit up my dinner from the night before.”
Ijsmirked. It seemed the divorce was inevitable, no cooling–off period needed.
The next morning, Eric was making breakfast for Jane.
She liked toast and fried eggs, with freshly squeezed avocado juice.
Eric glanced at me but said nothing.”
It wasn’t until Jane remarked, “You’ve lost weight. Did you have the baby?“\
That Eric finally looked at me.\\
“Where’s the baby? Why didn’t you contact me when you gave birth? What are you playing at, Gloria?”
Calmly sipping my milk, I showed him the call log on my phone.”
“You didn’t answer. The baby’s born. Do you want to see him?“\
Jane muttered, “She’s acting weird. We haven’t heard a baby cry since we got back. She didn’t sell the baby, did she?“” She was still trying to undermine me, even now.”
I smiled mysteriously, “You want to see the baby, don’t you? I’ll go get him.”
“Our little Lucky was a boy, four pounds, born at 2:15 a.m. His eyes and nose look like yours, his skin is fair, and his little lips resemble mine…”
Cradling the urn, I gazed at it lovingly.”
I handed it to Eric with both hands. “Would you like to hold our baby?”
Eric and Jane recoiled in horror, cursing as they backed away.”
‘Fuck, is she crazy?”
“Get away from me, you lunatic.“/
‘Has she lost her mind?”
I screamed, “Yes, I’m crazy! I went mad when I was left alone in the hospital to give birth! My baby, so small, didn’t even get to see this world before he was gone. And where were you? What were you doing? You were on a beach, wrapped in each other’s arms, in love’s embrace.“}
“The crazy ones aren’t me–it’s the two of you, heartless monsters.”
Finally, I spoke the words I’d been holding in for so long.”
Nothing could change the fact that my child was gone. I clutched the urn tightly, gathered my remaining belongings, and left
the house.
My parting words were, “Eric, remember to sign the divorce papers. See you at the Civil Affairs Bureau next Monday.“”
After leaving, I received constant messages from Eric and Jane.
It was just that “I know I was wrong. The child is gone. You still have to stay in confinement after the baby is born, and Jane will take care of you when you come back.“%
Like a weasel offering New Year’s greetings to a chicken–up to no good.
They thought their act was flawless, but I knew everything all along.
Once I left, they were even more brazen, speaking and acting without care.

He begged for forgiveness, claiming, “It was all Jane’s doing. She seduced me. I just made the same mistake any man would.”
I replied calmly. “A bitch and a dog–perfect together for eternity.”
After several rounds of back–and–forth, I remained firm.”
“The video has been backed up. If we divorce and I get my share of the property, we go our separate ways. Otherwise, your coworkers, your friends, they’ll all receive a copy…”
He had no choice and finally signed the papers.
As I walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau, the sunlight felt warm on my face for the first time in a long while.
