Chapter 10
Bianca’s POV
Tristan seemed to have the same idea I did. To avoid any conflict, I got up quickly to follow him to the door. But when he opened it, it wasn’t Russell standing there. To my surprise, it was Sabrina, dressed in a lace camisole, a big bow tied around her like a gift. She looked right at Tristan, desperate.
“Tristan, please,” she whispered, “don‘ t leave me…”
I couldn’t help but let out a laugh. “So, Tristan, this is what you meant by ‘no ties‘ with her?”
The second Sabrina saw me, her expression shifted, cycling through shock, fear, and something close to regret. Her face went pale, and she tried to turn and bolt, but Tristan caught her by the hair and yanked her into the house, slamming the

door behind him.
Tristan, usually so calm, was red with fury. He dragged Sabrina over to me like he was bringing me some kind of prize. “Bianca, this lowlife must‘ ve said all sorts of nasty things to hurt you. Well, I’ll make her pay for every one.
Before I could even process what was happening, Tristan slapped Sabrina hard across the face. And then he did it again, and again until her cheek was red and swollen. But Sabrina wasn‘ t about to back.

contempt.
“What are you playing at?” she sneered. “You were the one who suggested we ‘try new things, remember?” Then she started laughing–a cold, wild laugh that made my skin crawl.
“Bianca, don’t feel so high and mighty,” she spat. “Remember your birthday? The one he ‘missed‘ because of a ‘business trip‘? Well, he was with me, right there on

top of me. He even called you while he was with me–just for kicks.”
Tristan’s face twisted with rage. He yanked her head back and slammed it against the wall. “Apologizel Right now!” he roared. “Say you‘ re sorry to Bianca, or I swear I’ll kill you!”
Sabrina’s eyes filled with tears. She looked broken, her voice small. “You don’t want me anymore, Tristan–how is that any different from killing me?” She looked at him with genuine hurt. “I love you, Tristan…”
But he answered her with a brutal kick, sending her crumpling to the floor. She let out a cry of pain, blood spreading beneath her as she whispered, “It hurts… Tristan, are you really this heartless? You‘ d kill your own child?”
After witnessing such a cruel act, I finally found my voice. “Stop, Tristan!” I cried.
“Enough! You‘ Il kill her!”

But he wasn’t listening to me or anyone else. “Anyone who hurts Bianca deserves. to die!” he shouted, as Sabrina sobbed, unable to speak, begging with her eyes until even that grew faint.
When his fury finally burned itself out, Sabrina was barely conscious, lying in a heap in the corner. Tristan, covered in blood, turned to me, wanting to reach for me, but stopped, unsure. He looked crazed and desperate.
Slowly, he started peeling off his blood- stained clothes, wiping his hands like he could scrub away what he’d just done. “Bianca…” he choked out, “please don’t be afraid of me. I couldn’t bear it. I’ll go mad if I lose you.”
He sounded hollow, unhinged, clinging to me like he thought I might disappear. We stood there as the minutes crawled by, the two of us locked in that awful silence.
At last, he seemed to pull himself back together, some of his old calm returning.

He called someone to take Sabrina to the
hospital, then arranged for a cleaning crew to wipe away the scene as it had never happened.
I just watched him the whole time, cold and quiet. The man before me was almost a stranger, and I didn’t feel a single thing.
