Chapter 7
Time flew by, and amidst all the drama, Olivia surprisingly gave birth to twins. The sheer joy of having two sons momentarily distracted Dad from their Mom.
But he couldn’t bring himself to reconcile with Olivia, fixating only on his boys.
Olivia was defiant as ever.
She held her sons close and issued an
ultimatum, “If you won’t marry me, I swear, I’ll harm these kids!”
Dad, having become a father late in life, was hardly ready to abandon his sons.
“Fine, if marriage is off the table, then it’s 30 million for the boys. Fork it over, and they’re yours.”
Confronted with Olivia’s unwavering stance, Dad felt cornered into agreement.
Olivia set the twins down, whipped out a check, and slammed it on the table, “Let’s

get this in writing. Your word isn’t enough.”
Dad resigned and signed the contract as Olivia dictated.
A triumphant smile played on Olivia’s lips as she clutched the check–a stark contrast to the sobbing twins that Dad couldn’t tear his eyes away from.
“They’re still your kids; you’ve got to provide for them, right?” Dad muttered under his breath, his irritation growing as Olivia’s smile widened.
Olivia, relishing his discomfort, taunted, “Want me to look after them? Then marry me—or maybe cough up a bit more cash.”
“You!” Dad was seething.
Olivia chuckled, lifting the twins with feigned tenderness. “Why so uptight? Just pay up sooner. He’s your own flesh and blood, after all. You should be the one raising him.”
Her voice was devoid of warmth, her gaze

upon the children icy as if they were strangers.
Dad stormed out, his patience exhausted.
Soon after, Walter showed up, his face clouded with gloom, the twins in tow.
“Olivia, what are you playing at?” he demanded.
Olivia eyed the kids next to Walter and replied with a feigned innocence, “Walter, isn’t it obvious what I want?”
She grasped his hand, her voice soft, “I just want to be with you!”
Pulling out the contract, she showed it to him. “With these 30 million, we can finally leave the mountains. We’ll buy a place in the city and start a business.”
Her smile was hopeful, “The kids could get a proper education, Walter. Don’t you want that for them?”
Walter’s gaze flickered with suspicion, yet the thought of 30 million–an unimaginable

sum for him–was tempting.
“You’ve secured all this, so why are you still after Lily Anderson’s downfall?”
Olivia’s eyes hardened, “Walter, are you still hung up on her? If you really love her that much, maybe you should go down with her!”
Walter instinctively covered the children’s
ears.
“Keep it down! The kids are right here!”
