As we neared the school gate, Daniel chased after us from behind. “Cee, can we talk about the divorce?”

He looked at me, struggling to say, “Can we… not get divorced?”
I was almost laughing in anger, “Daniel, ten years ago, you said you were busy with work and needed someone to manage the household, and I agreed to be a housewife. You said. you would love me for a lifetime and support me forever. I believed you. I gave up a promising high–paying job and dedicated ten years of my youth.”
