Chapter 10
As I scrolled through the comments on the status update, the frustration from her teammates poured out in waves.
[I can’t believe this! An hour before the competition, Megan’s program crashes, wiping out all our supporting scripts! She’s all down!]
[Exactly! After a month of hard work, she’s ruined everything!

And now she’s supposed to fix the bug herself, but she’s comple! le clueless! She’s messed up several lines of code, and now the wh program is toast!]
[Seriously, I suspect she’s been copying everyone else’s work all along. No wonder she can’t even handle basic coding!]
[Can someone please save us from this nightmare? I’m losing my mind!]

The comments escalated quickly, with more bystanders jumping into the fray.
[Did you guys know? There were rumors that she only got into Arona University because her parents are professors who pulled some strings!]
[Honestly, she barely qualifies for a second–rate school, let alone Arona University. They just forced her in as a special admit!]
Chapter 10
[Isn’t that basically fraud? Her parents being professors doesn’t excuse her getting in through the back door!]
[And all that talk about her being a genius? A friend of mine who knows her said she was just an average student in elementary school, barely passing basic math!]
As I read through the increasingly outrageous comments, my suspicions were confirmed.
This was Megan’s true level.

After failing to steal my ideas, she couldn’t even get the simplest code right. She was just a pretty face with no substance.
“But what has linked me to Megan in the first place?”
While I was lost in thought, Logan’s voice suddenly boomed through the phone.
He hadn’t hung up; instead, he was practically shouting, “Keira, are you there? You need to help Megan fix this mess! You’re the only one who can save her!”
Of course. The only connection between Megan and me was Logan!
Realizing this, I understood that Logan was playing a role behind the
scenes.
So, I firmly replied, “Sorry, Logan, but I can’t help.”

Just as I was about to hang up, Logan’s tone softened, and he coaxed, “Keira, just help Megan this once. I know you’re feeling jealous, but if you do this, I promise I’ll keep my distance from her from now on. What do you say?”
His pleading only confirmed my suspicions–something was definitely off.
I let out a cold laugh and asked, “Logan, how can you be so sure I’m the only one who can help Megan solve this problem?”
