Chapter 8
Once I know the wedding is still on, Chloe’s
still chosen Mark.
The day before the wedding, Mark and his
mom come over to the house.
At that time, I just had a new activity plan
that I had been working on for a week to do.
As my mom welcomed them, I was drinking
coffee, looking like work had sucked my soul
out.
When Mark’s mom saw me, she scrunched up
her nose.
“Your oldest daughter is so sloppy, good
thing Chloe isn’t like that.”

stink.”
I laughed at myself: “I’m busy, I don’t have
your free time.”

hire a nanny to take care of the babies.”

nanny.

a fan.
