Chapter 9
On the day of the wedding, Mark’s relatives
immediately greeted Chloe with a blow.
As soon as Chloe opened the car door, two
big women rushed up and slapped Chloe.
After they finished hitting, they said with a
smile: “If you slap this slap, your marriage will
be happy and beautiful.”
Chloe was stunned by the slap and pushed
Г
Mark’s mom immediately said, “Are Mark’s
aunts bothering you? Chloe, why did you push
them? Don’t be so ignorant.”
Chloe’s face twisted with anger: “They
slapped me, why can’t I push them!”
Mark explains: “This is our wedding custom,
every bride has to be slapped a few times,
you’re acting like a diva!”
Before Chloe could say anything, she was
pushed onto a basket.
Pressing her down, forcing her to kneel for
three hours.
Chloe looked bad and asked Mark what the
meaning was.
く
Mark’s mom said: “Kneel for three hours, and
you will listen to the husband’s family after
marriage.”
Chloe didn’t want to, struggling to shake off
the hand, yelling Mark’s name, asking him to
solve it.
But Mark only gets mad at his wife, he
doesn’t dare to say anything to outsiders.
Not to mention the opposite are his relatives.
Mark’s face turned gloomy: “This is part of
our wedding customs, if you can’t accept it,
go home.”
“I won’t get married!”
L
Chloe still wanted to make a fuss, my mom
calmed her down.
“If you can endure a little, you will have many
ways to deal with them after the wedding.”
Chloe’s face improved, and she knelt for
three hours.
But this is just the beginning.
From the beginning to the end of the
wedding, Mark’s family didn’t stop for a
moment.
First, they didn’t let my family’s relatives into
the seats, saying they would pollute the air in
the entire banquet hall.
L
Later, in the parents‘ speech session, they
didn’t let my mom give a speech, saying that
Chloe was an orphan.
Whenever Chloe wanted Mark to stand up for
her, Mark would say “I’m not getting married“,
Chloe would immediately shut up.
During the toast session, Chloe took Mark’s
hand and came to our table to toast.
The relatives at the table flattered Chloe,
telling her to take care of them more in the
future.
Chloe agreed with them, but she didn’t pay
attention to Mark, whose face was getting
more and more impatient.
Chloe held up her glass, putting on a victory
“Sis, you should get married sooner, it’s not
good for women to always be busy with their
careers, you still need a man to rely on.”
The relatives next to her laughed: “You’re
probably too old to be able to get married.”
I ignored the ridicule of my relatives and
drank the red wine in my glass.
“I wish you good luck and have a lot of sons
early to fulfill your dream of having a soccer
team.”
Chloe was stunned by my words, but Mark
thanked me for my blessings.
I really wonder, if Chloe really had a soccer
team, would she still think that life is happy?
