“Are you sure about that? What happens if we
don’t win?”
I pushed her to keep talking in front of
everyone.
Brenda was furious.
She glared at me.
“If we don’t win, I’ll… I’ll leave the group! But
if we get first place, you leave!”
“Deal!”
I looked at Brenda with satisfaction, knowing
the show was about to begin.
The reporters in the room had caught it all.
The show’s live stream became more popular
because of our fight and immediately took
the top spot.

name.
It was time for us to go on stage.
Brenda was ready.

I walked to the back of the stage without

Her voice sounded angelic and beautiful!

her voice and cheered.

“Ashley bullied Brenda because she was

Brenda grinned, seeing all the praise.
She glanced at me and hit another high note,
taking the performance to the highest level!
Everyone in the audience stood up to applaud
her!
My other two teammates grinned and started
sucking up.
“Brenda, I didn’t know you could sing that
well. All those bad rehearsals must’ve been an
act!”
“Brenda, that was amazing! We’re on your
side from now on! Don’t forget about us when
you’re famous.”
Brenda laughed, then turned to look at me.
“What do you think, Ashley? Are you
impressed?”
