Tiana’s chest tightened as she watched Enoch stride closer. She had practically thrown herself at the food he brought, and now, she was caught red–handed by him.
‘Ahh! This is so embarrassing and awkward! Why am I like this?’ she yelled internally.
As panic rose inside Tiana, she instinctively reached to slam the door shut. However, before she could close the door, Enoch’s hand shot forward, unyielding against the frame.
Tiana pressed against the frame, pulling the door, but his hand slid further into the gap as if testing her nerve.
Tiana’s expression shifted as she warned, “Move!”
“If breaking my hand will calm you down, Ms. Schneider, so be it,” Enoch said.
With that, the floodgates broke. The door flung wide open, and Tiana’s fiery gaze locked onto him. “Do you think I shouldn’t be angry, Enoch?” she spat.
“I hired you to protect me, and you failed. You just stood there while I drank that spiked drink, letting me humiliate myself trying to seduce you. I even felt guilty after sleeping with you. You’re nothing but a sneaky, two–faced jerk!” she roared.

Enoch absorbed her blows until he caught her fists in his broad hand. He asked, “Ms. Schneider, do you regret that night with me?”

Before she could finish, his lips captured hers in a powerful, all–consuming kiss. His clean, sharp scent, underlined by a subtle hint of tobacco, filled her lungs.
Tiana’s eyes widened, and her long lashes fluttered in shock. She pushed against him, but her fists were caught tightly in his large hands. Then, he responded with a deeper kiss.

Tiana pressed her lips together, still tingling from his kiss. She could see it in his eyes. If she said yes, she knew he would kiss her again.

Enoch knew her anger wouldn’t subside anytime soon and handed her the lunch box, reminding her, “Don’t forget to cat after I leave.”
Tiana glared at him, snapping, “I’m not eating anything you made. I’ll get takeout later.”
Enoch chuckled, clearly seeing through her words, and left. As Tiana watched his tall, distant figure walk away, her hands clenched, itching to throw the lunch box at him.
“Seriously? Does he really think I’ll eat that?‘ she fumed internally.
Tiana carried the lunch box into the room and opened the lid, finding an assortment of all her favorite dishes.

Aurora’s face shifted between shades of green and purple. She never thought Caspian could be so venomous at tearing people down.
Aurora’s hand flew up, landing a sharp slap across Caspian’s face. He didn’t flinch, only rubbing the reddening spot on cheek with a finger before sneering at her.
Without warning, his lips crashed into hers, hungry, intense, and ruthless.

As soon as she left, Jayden entered the room. His eyes immediately locked on Caspian, who was sitting on the couch drenched in red wine. With a face full of shock, Jayden asked, “Uncle Caspian, why are you here? Who splashed wine on you? I was told Aurora was in here. Did you see her?”
Caspian removed his gold–rimmed glasses, wiping the wine off his face with a pristine plaid handkerchief he took out of his pocket. His sharp eyes flicked briefly to Jayden. The coldness he exuded was enough to silence any further questions, even without saying anything.
Before Caspian stood up, his voice cut through icily as he warned, “Stay away from Aurora from now on.”
Jayden was left speechless, stunned into silence.

After leaving the private room, Aurora went straight to the supervisor and requested time off. She had no desire to cross paths with Caspian or Jayden. The only option left was to resign and disappear as quickly as possible.
She quickly boarded a bus. With Novavista being a tourist hotspot, the bus was packed despite the late hour. There were no seats left, so Aurora clung to the handrail, standing in the aisle.
Her thoughts were jumbled and heavy, and her gaze was cast downward. She was oblivious to the luxury sports car speeding
behind the bus.
“Is that a Bugatti Noire? It’s a limited edition, worth a whopping 20 million dollars!” someone exclaimed
“Forget the car. Did you see the driver? He’s young, ridiculously good–looking, and has this air of class about him,” another person commented.
Through the open bus window, several passengers glimpsed at Caspian’s striking figure. His features were so striking that they outshone even the most adored TV stars.
“Is he staring at the bus?” one passenger asked.
“Could it be? Is he interested in me?” another gasped.
“Oh my god, I just saw his watch–it’s worth eight figures at least!” a third person marveled.
Aurora heard the excited chatter and instinctively glanced outside. The sight she met made her heart skip a beat. Is that Caspian following the bus? Is he out of his mind?‘ she thought
The bus pulled up to the next stop, and Caspian parked his car. As he strode confidently toward the bus, the excited shrieks from the girls inside filled the air.
Aurora attempted to get off the bus, but she was trapped in the crowd, unable to move. She lowered her head, trying to remain invisible.
When Caspian entered the bus, his gaze immediately landed on her from the distance, though he didn’t make a move Aurora ignored him, pretending he was invisible.
A middle–aged man slowly positioned himself behind her. As the bus began to move, he leaned forward, his hand brushing lightly against her back.
Aurora spun around, glaring at him as she snapped, “What do you think you’re doing?
The man gave a sleazy grin and said, “Sorry, miss. It was an accident.”
As Aurora tried to step away, the man shifted closer, his eyes lingering on her curves. His gaze settled on her rear enveloped in the tailored suit, and he gulped.
Just as his hand inched toward her, intent on groping her, his knee suddenly gave out. A powerful kick landed, sending him crashing to the ground, and pain shot into his kneecaps, feeling as if they had shattered.
The man looked up to find Caspian standing over him, his noble and handsome face full of fury “Dare to touch my woman?” Caspian growled.
