Chapter 43
The middle–aged man snapped out of his stupor, his expression twisted with furious malice as he pulled a knife out. “It looks like you’re going to start something, huh?”
“Ahh!” A shrill scream pierced the air, plunging the bus into chaos.
Caspian’s fox–like gaze remained sharp behind his glasses, his tone icy as he said, “Let’s take this outside. Don’t drag innocent people into this.”
The man was bulky, and his temper flared. Ignoring Caspian’s suggestion, he lunged forward, swinging the blade straight at
him.
Aurora’s eyes widened, her instincts kicking in as she yelled, “Caspian, watch out!”
Caspian snorted. This small fry can’t hurt me.”
As the blade neared, Caspian reacted with precision, seizing the man. His leg shot out, delivering a sharp, brutal kick to the man’s weak spot, making him cry out in pain.
Caspian was not done yet, fury boiling over as memories of the man’s attempt to take advantage of Aurora surged in his mind. He slammed his fist into the man’s face, knocking some teeth out. He pinned him beneath his boot. “Which hand touched her?”
The man, terrified by the unexpected ferocity, trembled in fear, unable to speak.
Seeing the man silent, Caspian stomped down on his wrist, causing him to scream in agony.
Aurora rushed forward and said, “I have already contacted the police. Caspian, stop now! Someone might get hurt!”
Caspian adjusted his gold–rimmed glasses, his voice cold as he demanded, “Did he touch you anywhere else?”
Aurora shook her head, answering, “No.”

It was not long before the police arrived. The man tried to make a counterclaim against Caspian, but several young stepped forward.
“That man is a pervert!” one woman cried out. “He touched me earlier, pressed himself against me, and I was too scared to speak up!”
“He did it to me, too!” another added.
“That handsome guy is the good person,” another one chimed in.
Caspian did not consider himself a hero. If the man had not touched Aurora, he would not have intervened. She was his. and only he had the right to push her around–no one else.
Once the pervert was taken away, Caspian yanked Aurora off the bus. His handsome face was tense and icy. He remained silent as he dragged her along.
Aurora tried to break free, but it was f
futile. He shoved her into the passenger seat of his sports car, then slammed the door,
Soon, the car sped off. Aurora glanced at him several times, but he was quiet all the way.
“Caspian, where are you taking me?” she asked.

Chapter 43
Caspian ignored her, driving toward a desolate beach. Finally, he turned his eyes toward her, dark and unforgiving behind his glasses. “You said you’d live a better life without me,” he sneered, “Is this what you call living?”
Aurora shivered under his piercing gaze, her lashes lowering as she responded, “I don’t think it’s that bad, as long as you stay out of my life-
Before she could finish, a chilling laugh escaped him. “Stay out?” His fingers caressed her delicate face. A mix of obsession and tenderness was in his eyes. “Weren’t you the one who returned to me? You even got involved with Jayden. How should I punish you for that?”
Aurora’s pupils contracted. “Wasn’t the last punishment enough?” she asked.
Caspian leaned in, pressing his lips against her cheek and moving slowly toward her ear. Before she could pull away, he sank his teeth into her earlobe, biting down until it bled. The sharp pain sent a jolt through her chest.
His grip tightened on her face, his eyes maliciously cold behind the glasses. “Be my lover until I grow tired of you,” he demanded.
Aurora’s eyes widened as she gasped, “Are you crazy, or am I?”
Caspian met her raging, embarrassed gaze, his words cutting through the air coldly as he replied, “Do you think you have the right to refuse? Don’t forget. Your mother’s still here in Novavista, and your brother is still in high school.”
Aurora felt a chill settle in. The man who had once adored her was now speaking with such a threat.
Aurora closed her eyes, her chest tight with the weight of unspoken bitterness. “Caspian, do you still love me?” she uttered.
Caspian’s gaze lingered on her, cold and detached before a cruel smile appeared. “Why would I waste my feelings on someone disgraceful like you?” he responded.
‘She swore she would never leave me, but he thought.
When the Xuereb family fell from grace, instead of standing by him, Aurora sought out another wealthy man. Caspian would never forget the sight of her in someone else’s arms when he walked into their apartment.
She shattered his heart, leaving him hollow. Love had long since faded, replaced by a rage with nowhere to land.
“Aurora, I’ll release you when I’m done with you,” he declared.
Before she could speak, his towering frame pressed her down. The sound of his belt unfastening made her narrow her eyes. She pleaded, “Caspian, please don’t! You don’t have to do this!”
But her cries only seemed to awaken a twisted satisfaction within him, filling his void.
He slid off his glasses, lowering his face to the curve of her neck, his gaze a mixture of obsession and tenderness.
‘Aurora, you changed me. Now, you must take responsibility, he thought grimly.
He was relentless, wild, and unyielding until her tearful pleas finally broke through his storm of fury. At last, he released her. and she slumped against the back of the chair, her body numb with exhaustion.
Aurora’s tear–streaked eyes fixed on him as though staring at a stranger. She said, “Caspian, you call me disgraceful, yet how can you stand to keep someone you claim to despise?”
When he heard her words, his bloodshot eyes darkened. He grabbed her chin roughly, and his lips crashed onto hers. He muttered, “Test me again, Aurora, and I’ll lock you away–until I get tired of you.”

Hate? Perfect! At least then she won’t see me as a stranger, Caspian thought as his lips twisted into a cruel smile.
Aurora felt helpless against the man who showed no sign of being moved by her emotions.
“Aurora,” Caspian uttered, his fingers slowly buttoning her shirt. As his lips grazed her collarbone, he continued, “My number hasn’t changed. When I call, you better answer.”
A mist of unshed tears clouded her eyes. His voice was the same–warm and rich–but his words were a cruel twist, each one cutting deeper into her heart.
“Caspian, I won’t be your toy–not in this lifetime!” Aurora snapped.
Caspian softly patted her face, murmuring. “Very well. But mark my words–you’ll be the one begging me soon.” His narrowed, icy eyes gleamed with a brewing storm, sending a chill racing down Aurora’s spine.
Caspian did not let her leave on her own this time but drove her directly to her apartment–a run–down building in the worst part of the city, he noted..
With a frown, he gracefully retrieved a card from his pocket and tucked it into her collar.
Aurora’s face paled with shame. Working in a club, she had seen this degrading act countless times–wealthy patrons tucking money into the escort’s outfit based on their mood.
It was humiliating, and now, Caspian had done the same to her.
Aurora snatched the card from her collar and hurled it straight at his scholarly face. Without sparing him another glance, she slammed the car door shut and stormed away.
Caspian’s gaze followed her silhouette, a subtle elusive smile appearing on his lips. ‘She is still the same fiery little wildcat, isn’t she? Let’s see how long you can keep up this act, he thought.
Pulling out his phone, he dialed a number as coldness and obsessiveness were reflected in his eyes.
