Simon sent her a photo of a brooch, a chilling reminder of the night she had narrowly escaped having her face scarred by thugs. If Simon hadn’t intervened in time, the outcome might have been far worse. Though she had emerged unscathed, the brooch had vanished.
It had been her mother’s favorite piece, and she had long yearned to recover it. I can’t let Simon destroy it!‘ she thought. Tiana arrived at the Royale Hotel half an hour later. She rang the doorbell of room 2116, her lips pursed. The door opened.
Simon’s expression was unreadable as he fixed his gaze on Tiana. “Come in.”
Tiana stepped into the room, her eyes cold and detached as they met Simon’s. Just a month ago, his charming face might have stirred something in her, but now, it left her utterly unmoved.
What disgusted her most was how he used her mother’s cherished brooch to manipulate her into coming to the hotel.
“Where did you get that brooch? How much did it cost? I’ll pay you double,” Tiana demanded, her tone sharp and unwavering.

“Yes,” she admitted.
“With Enoch’s strong ties to the Yarrow and Xuereb families in Jadewick, Simon would think twice before messing with him,” she thought.
Simon staggered, his body trembling as though he’d been struck by an invisible blow. His temples pounded, and his breaths came in ragged gasps. His grip on her shoulders tightened. “Tiana, how could you marry him? A mere bodyguard? He doesn’t love you; he’s just after your money!”
Tiana shoved his hand away, her frown deepening. “Since we got married, he’s never once asked for my money. If anything. he’s spent more on me than I’d ever expect.”
“You left me, Simon. You don’t get to dictate who I marry,” she said coldly, unwilling to argue further. She extended her hand. “Now, give me the brooch.”
Simon’s gaze remained fixed on Tiana, searching for even a flicker of regret as she spoke of Enoch. But there was none. Instead, she defended Enoch right to his face.
“You’ve loved me for so many years. You promised you’d marry no one but me. I know I messed up, but it was just a mistake any man could make! It wasn’t unforgivable. Why won’t you give us another chance?” Simon felt a sharp pain in his heart. It was at that moment he realized, with absolute certainty, that she had moved on.
The love she had once felt for Simon had withered. He couldn’t bear the thought of it, and the pain and anger brewing within hum threatened to consume him.
“Tiana, you’ve had Enoch as your bodyguard for two years. Have you been cheating on me with him this whole time?” he

Tiana’s hand struck his face with a resounding slap. “We’re not as vile as you seem to think we are!”
Simon gingerly touched his swollen cheek, his eyes reflecting a deep hurt.

‘She’s not the same anymore. She would never have hit me, no matter what I did to anger her. But now… she actually struck me, he thought..
Simon took a deep breath, struggling to steady his emotions and speak in a soft tone. Tia, I’ve told you. Jocelyn only saved me, that’s all. She’s just a savior to me. I don’t love her-
“Enough!” Tiana interrupted sharply, her eyes flashing with impatience. “I’m not interested in your past with Jocelyn Where’s the brooch?”
Simon’s heart ached like never before.
He couldn’t help but replay the memories of their past, when she had eyes only for him, when everything about her seemed to belong to him. To think that she would marry that bodyguard! This is outrageous! he thought.
He shut his bloodshot eyes, trying to push the pain aside. After a moment, he turned and entered the room, returning with two glasses of red wine from the bar. “Drink this, and I’ll give you the brooch.”
Simon had spiked her drink, knowing that once she drank it, he could take control. He had always respected Tiana’s boundaries in the past, never pushing her to give him her virginity when she wasn’t ready.
‘But now, she’s not the same. Her once–pristine image of chastity was nothing more than a facade. She’s been sleeping with her bodyguard behind my back. If she doesn’t respect herself, why should I?’ he thought bitterly
Tiana glanced at Simon, taking the glass from him. “Let me see the brooch first.”
Simon pulled the brooch from his pocket. She studied it carefully, confirming it was her mother’s brooch. “Where did you get this?”
Simon fixed her with an intense gaze. “I knew you’d been searching for it. I bought it at an auction, hoping to surprise you at our engagement party. But then everything changed. I’ve always been serious about us, Tia.”
Tiana’s eyes flickered to the glass in her hand. “You spiked this, didn’t you?”
Simon pressed his lips together, his gaze cold. “Yes, Tia. If you want this brooch, there’s a price.”
Tiana’s lip curled in disdain. “Simon, I’m disgusted by how shameless and despicable you’ve become.”
“You left me no choice, Tia.” Simon’s hand rose, the threat in his eyes unmistakable. “Drink it, or I’ll destroy it.”
Tiana took a steadying breath. “Fine. I’ll drink it.”
Without another word, she tilted her head back and downed the wine.
The effects of the drug took hold swiftly. A rosy flush spread across Tiana’s face, and her eyes sparkled with a newfound seductive allure. Simon was captivated.
She swayed unsteadily, clutching her head.
Without hesitation, Simon moved to steady her, his arm wrapping around her waist. The closeness sent a wave of her delicate perfume to his senses. “Tia, I love that new fragrance you’re wearing.”

Tiana shot him a glance, then pushed him away, playing hard to get.
She stumbled into the room, collapsing onto the couch.
Simon dropped to his knees beside her, his gaze fixed on her with a mix of desire and obsession. “Tia, don’t blame me. I know you won’t betray that bodyguard, even if you don’t love him, because you’re married now. But once you drink this wine, all of that will fade away. I promise I’ll make you happy.”
He leaned in to kiss her, but she tilted her head, evading his lips. “Why don’t you go take a bath first. Simon?”
Her voice calling his name sent a surge of heat through his veins. The wine has made her weak. There’s no way she can escape now, Simon thought.
Tll be ready in five minutes.” He then hurried into the bathroom. Less than five minutes later, he emerged.
The room was bathed in soft, dim light, the only illumination coming from a bedside lamp. On the bed, a slender silhouette lay, effortlessly captivating Simon’s attention.
The woman was draped in a sultry black slip dress, the daring slit revealing just a hint of her leg.
A rush of adrenaline surged through Simon’s veins. He swallowed and strode toward the bed.
He pinned her beneath her and kissed her passionately. Tia, you are mine and can only ever be mine!”
After returning to Wisteria Heights, Enoch prepared dinner. Once the meal was ready, he checked his phone, only that Tiana still hadn’t called.
He frowned and dialed her number, but the call didn’t go through.
Frustrated, Enoch drove straight to her studio.

As he approached the building, Elodie happened to come out. Seeing him, she frowned. “Are you here to pick up Tia? She’s already gone.”
Enoch pressed his lips into a tight line; he was clearly anxious.
Enoch decided to try his luck at Aurora’s place. He rang the doorbell several times, but there was no response.
‘She’s not here. Where could she be?’ he wondered. A strange sense of unease gripped him.
His expression hardened with urgency as he made a call. “Find Tiana within ten minutes.”
His subordinate wasted no time. Leveraging Novavista’s advanced surveillance system, they pinpointed her location in record time.
“Ms. Schneider reached Royale Hotel around seven. The receptionist confirmed she went to room 2116, the subordinate revealed.

When he arrived, the front desk had a spare keycard ready. Enoch grabbed the keycard and headed up. He didn’t give it a second thought, figuring she’d simply checked into a hotel because she didn’t want to go home.

The door clicked open as he swiped the card, and with purposeful strides, Enoch stepped into the pitch–black room. He had barely taken a few steps when a low, satisfied voice broke the silence. “Tia, I have you now
Enoch stopped dead in his tracks, In the darkness, his sharp eyes barely discerned Simon’s silhouette looming over something, or someone, beneath him.
As an adult, he knew exactly what Simon was doing.
Enoch’s mind reeled, a surge of adrenaline flooding his veins as his head spun momentarily. A cold, menacing shadow darkened his stern features.
His hands clenched into tight fists, the veins on the back of his hands standing out like cords, pulsing with barely contained fury.
Just as Enoch was about to step forward, Simon’s hoarse voice sliced through the darkness. “Between me and Enoch, who can make you happier?”
Enoch’s jaw tightened. His lips pressed into a grim, unyielding line.
Hesitation gripped him, freezing him in place. He staggered back a couple of steps.
At that moment, their marriage felt like nothing more than a cruel joke. Rage and anguish roiled within him as he turned and stormed out of the room, his bloodshot eyes burning with a mix of betrayal and pain.
Just as he was about to leave, the door to the adjacent room flew open with a bang. A woman stepped out, her cheeks flushed, water dripping from her damp hair.
Their eyes locked, a flicker of disbelief crossing their faces as they took each other in.
Enoch’s gaze swept over her, his eyes tracing every familiar feature. His voice came out low and hoarse. “Tiana Schneider?”
Tiana blinked; she wasn’t used to hearing Enoch call her by her full name.
He stood rigid, his frame taut with tension, a dark glare in his eyes, and a chilling aura radiating from him.
Her gaze shifted to the keycard clutched in his hand, and in an instant, she pieced together what had happened.
“Did you go in there just now?” she asked with a frown
Ignoring Tiana’s question, Enoch demanded, “Who’s the woman in that room?”

“There’s no woman,” Tiana replied calmly. “Simon’s hallucinating because of the perfume I’m wearing. He’s hugging a pillow, thinking it’s me.”
She had anticipated exactly what she was walking into when she decided to meet Simon, and she’d come prepared.
The perfume she’d worn was specially formulated to induce hallucinations in men. When Simon emerged from the shower. he had mistaken a pillow for her. Taking advantage of his delusion, Tiana swiftly snatched the brooch and left.
‘Since he’s heartless, I don’t have to show him any mercy either, she thought.
Tiana couldn’t understand how things had spiraled so badly between them. Swallowing the ache and sorrow in her chest, she met Enoch’s icy glare.
“How on earth did you find me?” she asked.

Enoch said nothing, turning and striding away.
A sense of unease crept into Tiana’s heart. Is he mad? I didn’t cheat on him, so what’s he so mad about?”
She hurried after him, glancing at him as the elevator descended, but he remained silent, his gaze fixed ahead.

The air between them was thick with tension as they walked in silence toward the parking lot. She slid into the passenger seat of his SUV
“Simon blackmailed me into coming here with Mom’s favorite brooch. Nothing happened, I swear. Please, don’t be mad at me,” she explained.
He pursed his lips, his voice cold. “Want me to drop you off at Aurora’s?”
Tiana’s lashes fluttered as she gripped the seatbelt, her knuckles pale. “No. I’m not going back there.”
Her breathing was shallow as she talked.
Enoch stole a glance at her. It was evident that something was off. The flush on her cheeks and the shimmer of moisture in her eyes immediately caught his attention. She looked just like she had at the engagement party, when she’d been drugged.
‘She wouldn’t have drunk a spiked drink for no reason. Simon must have made her do it, he thought. The fact that she was so close to being taken advantage of by Simon caused his expression to darken.
“If you’re not going back to Aurora’s, where do you want to go?” he asked.
Tiana glared at him defiantly, demanding, “Didn’t you prepare a wedding room for me? 1 want to go back there.”
A low, almost bitter chuckle escaped his lips, his jaw tightening. “You want to go back there for what? So I can be your antidote?”
Tiana fell silent. After a moment, she bit her lip. “Can you?”
Before she could finish, he ruthlessly interrupted her, “No way.”
With a seductive smile, Tiana trailed her fingers along Enoch’s muscular thigh, her voice soft and alluring. “Then I’ll seduce you. Will you let me?”
