Chapter 19
Antonio came again.
Grace heard footsteps and her heart tightened. She quickly adjusted her expression, pretending to have a clueless look as if she had lost her memory.
Antonio’s gaze was gentle as he carefully observed Grace, attempting to find a hint of familiar response on her face.
Grace stared at him coldly, without showing a hint of emotion.
“Grace, do you feel better today?”
Antonio’s voice was soft, carrying an unconscious desire to please.
Grace’s voice was faint.
“If I hadn’t seen Mr. Kaufman, I might have been better sooner.”
Antonio’s eyes flickered with pain, but he still managed to bring out the box in his hand.
“You see, you would definitely like this gift.”
During the days when she was sick, Antonio brought various things to please her, but without exception, all those things ended up in the trash.
Antonio opened the box, unaffected by Grace’s presence.

It was Talia’s painting, and Grace’s pupils involuntarily dilated, as the pain in her heart struck again.
Grandma, Talia, and she, just the place where Antonio used to be, became a desolate void.
Antonio held the painting, his voice filled with nostalgia.
“Grace, when people possess something, they often perceive it as ordinary. It is only when they lose it that they realize how important certain people truly are.”
Antonio took out a painting and tried to hand it to her, attempting to awaken her memory.
In an instant, a wave of warm memories of the past and moments spent with her daughter flooded Grace’s mind, causing her eyes to involuntarily turn red.
She instinctively reached out her hand, wanting to take the painting, and the natural and familiar expression in her movement instantly caught Antonio’s attention.
“Grace, did you…did you regain your memory?”
Antonio’s eyes were filled with anticipation and unease.
Grace realized her misconduct and felt deeply remorseful in her heart, but she also understood that she could no longer continue to pretend.
She remained silent for a moment, slowly lifted her head and said nothing.
Antonio saw Grace’s silence and his eyes turned red. He urgently and sincerely apologized.

“Grace, I know I made a lot of mistakes in the past and caused you a lot of pain.”
“I caused you to lose your grandmother and indirectly caused the death of Talia, I am a sinner.”
“It’s all my fault for trusting Yesenia, causing you to suffer time and time again, and neglecting your feelings. Many times, I didn’t give you enough trust and support.”
He took a deep breath and continued speaking.
“But I truly know I was wrong. During this period, I have been reflecting day and night, understanding how important you are to me. I beg you to give me another chance, forgive me this time, and let us start
over. Is that okay?”
Grace listened to Antonio’s confession, and tears rolled down uncontrollably.
The past hurts are vividly remembered, those painful memories are sharper than knives, poking her with countless wounds.
What is the use of apologizing now?
Grace’s hatred surged in her heart, and her voice also grew colder.
“Antonio, what were you installing?”
“Without your indulgence, could Yesenia have been so resolute?”
“Could you erase everything you did by blaming it all on Yesenia?”

Antonio’s heart seemed to be struck hard by a heavy hammer, and he trembled as he reached out his hand, wanting to grab Grace, but then stopped in mid–air.
His voice was filled with endless pain.
“Grace, I beg you not to be so determined. Think about our past, we would still have children.”
“Snap.”
A loud slap silenced Antonio’s words.
Grace’s eyes were bloodshot.
“Go away, just get out of here.”
“What qualifications do you have to say such things, you disgusting man, incompetent father.”
“In this lifetime, even if I die, I will never forgive you!”
