Chapter 8
Yesenia was too fragile, too naive. Without his protection, she’d suffer greatly.
Unlike Grace…
The thought of Grace made his gaze waver.
He’d never considered divorcing her. Even if she’d made mistakes, there was still history between them.
She loved him so much–surely she could accept this child.
With another sigh, he decided to explain everything properly.
But the moment he unlocked his phone, it flooded with missed calls.
His heart raced, a foreboding sense that something terrible had happened.
A news alert popped up.
“Nocturne Suicide Jump.”
His pupils contracted as he stared at the video.
Nocturne had only seven rooms. The person who jumped… it had to be Jintang.
His heart pounded as he bolted out the door.
He shouted at his driver, “To Nocturne! Now!”
Chapter
The driver, seeing his usually composed boss in a panic, slammed on the gas.
When they arrived, Antonio rushed out of the car.
He grabbed the manager by the collar, his voice fierce.
“Where’s Grace?”
The manager grimaced.

“Mr. Kaufman, your wife jumped into the sea yesterday. We tried calling you, but you didn’t answer…”
“The rescue team is searching for her now.“”
Antonio released him. His face was still dark.
“Who wanted to harm Grace? I don’t believe she’d kill herself.”
“Not for the sake of her family. She wouldn’t.”
The manager quickly led Antonio to the VIP room. He pulled up surveillance footage on the large screen.
“Mr. Kaufman, as you can see, there was no one else in the room…”
Antonio stared at the video.
Grace sat there, expressionless. She looked neither happy nor sad.
He frowned. He noticed how thin Grace had become–so frail.
In the video, Grace answered a phone call and then set down her ring.
Chapter 8
The moment she leaped, Antonio shot to his feet.
How could this be?
Would she really abandon everything so irresponsibly?
Didn’t she care about their daughter?
He called his assistant to bring Talia over.
The assistant’s voice was strained.
“Sir, the kindergarten said… Talia is already dead.”
Antonio froze.
“What did you say?”

The assistant didn’t respond, instead sending a news article.
“Amusement Park Murder Case: Victim T.K….”
A knife seemed to pierce Antonio’s heart. The pain was stealing his breath.
Talia… was dead?
Then what had he been doing all this time?
Thinking of his mistrust toward Grace, her tears and despair- he had thought it was all an act.
He slammed his fist into the wall. Blood seeped through his fingers, but he felt no pain.
The image of Talia’s tragic fate turned his eyes bloodshot.
“Bring Yesenia to me.”

Yesenia was dragged in by bodyguards.
Her eyes brimmed with tears. Her voice trembled.
“Antonio, what’s going on? This hurts…”
Seeing the woman he had protected for so long, he couldn’t be completely ruthless. He waved for the bodyguards to release her.
His voice was icy.
“Didn’t you send someone to pick up Talia?”
Yesenia’s eyes darted nervously.
“Antonio, I did send someone. Maybe she ran off on her
own…”
Antonio’s gaze grew colder, and Yesenia’s voice faltered.
Realizing the danger, Yesenia’s tears began to fall.
“Antonio, it’s all my fault. I just wanted to see you so badly…”
Antonio threw the newspaper in her face.
“Yesenia, she was just a child!”
“How could you leave her alone like that?”
