Chapter 5
I watched them chatting and laughing through the crowd. The girl gestured animatedly, her ponytail bouncing.
Not sure what they talked about, but she pouted and rubbed her stomach, while Ethan Williams reached out to tousle her
hair.
For a moment, I felt like I was a mistress pooping on others. From last night’s kiss to today’s hair tousling.
Seems like Ethan Williams quite likes her. Makes sense, Who wouldn’t like someone who silently treats you well, expects
nothing in return, and only has eyes for you?
I laughed at myself mockingly. Turning around the corner, I saw Oliver Smith instead.
Ho amarged from the shadows, glaring in Ethan Williams‘ direction with a sinister look. “This is the opponent you picked for me?”
I looked him in the eye. “Don’t flatter yourself.”
“Sophia Johnson, why did you stop pursuing me back then?”
I found it quite absurd. I chased him for ten years, wasn’t that enough? Ever since I stopped pursuing him, he often come around to make his presence known.
Perhaps he didn’t really like me at all. Just like Ethan Williams, it was moraly a sense of reluctance.
“Even so, you still want to get married?” Oliver Smith asked me.
I curled my lips. “Mind your own business.”
“Ive long given up on you. I really, really don’t want to see you?
Brushing past him.
Oliver Smith asked, “You don’t mind even if he has someone else?”
I do mind. I pressed on my heart. It hurts a little.
But I know, one day it will heal
Twenty more days. Sophia Johnson. Endure it,
On the way home with Ethan Williams, I told him the custom–made wedding dress was accidentally ruined by me. “Isn’t this foreshadowing something bad will happen?”
I quietly observed his expression. He merely furrowed his brows slightly before turning to hold my hand, smiling gently as always. Then let’s go pick a new wedding dress tomorrow, okay?”
That wedding dress took half a year to moko, designed by my favorite designer, one of a kind. It was just delivered a week ago. It looked great on me, but Ethan Williams happened to be missing and never saw me wear it.
I don’t want it anymore. Any regrets? I have none.
Ethan Williams, you want to play games? This is just the beginning.
