Book 4 I Attended My
Boyfriend’s Wedding
The figure that once appeared in my mind countless times while I was unconscious now walked past me, as if he didn’t even see me, heading straight toward the woman behind me.
His features were just as they had been before, identical to the man who once loved
- me.
Familiar yet somehow strangely distant.
I think waking up from four years of chaotic confusion and trying to put this feeling into words is incredibly difficult.
Happy? Excited? Or perhaps lost?

At least for me, it felt like the helplessness and fear of watching everything that was once familiar vanish completely.
Especially when I saw his large hands naturally and skillfully clasping the woman’s hand, rubbing it while exhaling softly.
“Mina, your hands are so cold. Are you feeling unwell?”
“Eh… you… I’m fine… can you calm down? My friend is still here…”
The girl he called Mina seemed a little annoyed but also shy as she pushed him away, lightly stepping on his shoe.
Then, with her ears flushed red, she introduced us.
“Hannah, this is my boyfriend, Mason Grant.”

Mason Grant was somewhat aloof, merely nodding at me in greeting.
Hearing the name, I snapped back to reality, suddenly aware of my own emotions.
Quickly covering up my expression, I clenched my trembling hands tightly and forced a smile, nodding–no doubt, it was the ugliest smile I’d ever given.
Mason Grant didn’t respond further and instead went to grab a small blanket from the room, gently draping it over Mina’s shoulders.
Watching the same tender gestures and expression he had four years ago, yet his gaze lingered on another woman, my heart seemed to wrench painfully.

Mina had already started chattering about how we met today.
The light drizzle in the sky scattered above the city, coming unexpectedly, catching people off guard. Even though winter had already arrived, the intermittent rain still danced through the neon lights above the city, like a lingering embrace.
An hour ago, I was aimlessly wandering the streets, trying to adjust to this ever–changing city over the four years I had been
unconscious, or perhaps I was just trying to clear my mind and organize the memories of four years ago.
Suddenly, I heard a quiet gasp not far off.
Then, a few oranges rolled to my feet.
The girl with short ear–length hair

and sparkling eyes looked up at me apologetically. “Sorry, sorry, the bag broke.”
She immediately crouched down to try and put the soggy oranges back in the bag.
But the rain didn’t let up, even though she was struggling. If she was left to handle it on her own, she’d be drenched by the time she finished. So, I bent down and gently helped her pick up the oranges.
“Ah, thank you so much!”
As she thanked me, we slowly put all the oranges into a new bag together.
“Thank you so much, miss, you really helped me out!”

She thanked me repeatedly, her hair dampened by both sweat and raindrops.
Suddenly, she stopped. “Oh, you didn’t bring an umbrella?”
I looked at my soaked clothes and gave a wry smile, shaking my head.
“Then, why don’t you come to my house? It’s just a little way ahead.”
Looking at her face, so similar to my own from four years ago, and her incredibly sunny smile, I found myself swallowing the rejection that was about to spill out.
Thinking the rain wasn’t going to stop anytime soon, I nodded and helped her carry the oranges to her house.
“Ah, you sit down first, I’ll go get you some

hot water.”
She darted off to the kitchen like a little
rabbit.
While she was gone, I used the towel she handed me to dry my hair and looked around the room.
Before long, she returned with hot water, and we started chatting without a care.
From our conversation, I learned that her name was Mina.
Strangely enough, the layout of Mina’s house gave me a strange sense of familiarity, a feeling that had been growing since the moment I first met her.
This eerie sensation only became more pronounced in the things she said while we
