I couldn’t quite explain it, but as I faced my husband again, a sense of guilt crept over

“Honey, you did great today. I can see Floyd is almost hooked. Keep up the good work!”
His voice was full of joy, basking in a happiness I didn’t quite understand, without a hint of hesitation.
I inexplicably felt relieved and hesitantly asked, “Do I need to keep going?”
“Of course!” he replied without hesitation. “I know you’re not thrilled about this, my love. Once it’s over, I promise I won’t ask you to do anything like this again!”

Feeling a weight lift, I said, “That’s a relief.”
I didn’t have to meet Floyd Wade again, but I had to chat with him on the phone every day. My husband would regularly check these conversations, claiming he felt a twisted satisfaction from seeing our flirty exchanges and even coaching me on what suggestive texts to send.

As I reached for a napkin, my hand accidentally brushed against Floyd Wade’s, and neither of us pulled away until my husband suddenly appeared, breaking the tension, and we both quickly withdrew.
“Honey, what are you doing here?”
This wasn’t part of our plan. I was caught off guard and didn’t understand the sudden change.
My husband didn’t have a smile on his face as he scrutinized me and Floyd Wade with a piercing gaze.
“Honey, why are you having dinner with Floyd at our usual spot behind my back?”
