Chapter 8
Divorce isn’t something I can achieve just because I want it. I’ve faced strong opposition from him; he completely lost his usual composure, smashing many things in the house in rage. His violent demeanor frightened me but also strengthened my resolve to get a divorce.
I reached out to Floyd Wade again, confiding in him that I’ve made up my mind about the divorce, but it’s not going smoothly and I hope he can help me.
Floyd reassured me, and soon he arranged to meet my husband for a heart–to–heart talk.
I stayed home, listening live on my phone to their conversation.

“Jed, there’s something I’ve been holding in for a while, and I wasn’t sure if I should tell you!”
“Stop speaking in riddles. I’ve been really stressed lately. Just say what you need to.”
“Alright, but don’t get mad. Remember when you had me over a few times recently? I noticed something seemed off with your wife. She’s always… sort of flirting with me.”
The line went silent. This was part of the plan that Floyd and I had devised. My husband would surely deny that he had instructed me to seduce Floyd, allowing Floyd to use this as a reason to persuade him for a divorce.
To my surprise, my husband’s priorities were elsewhere. I could distinctly hear the excitement in his voice despite his attempt

to suppress it.
“Floyd, do you think my wife is sexy and attractive? Did she manage to seduce you?”
Floyd was taken aback, his voice filled with shock, “Jed, what do you mean by that?”
My husband coughed twice and explained, “It’s nothing, I’m just curious. Don’t worry, I completely trust my wife. But she is indeed beautiful and charming, even if you developed some feelings for her, I wouldn’t blame you.””
“But…”
“Hey, I get it. Brothers are like limbs, women are like clothes. Floyd, if you truly fancy her, as your brother, I wouldn’t really get mad or cut ties with you.”

While they continued their conversation, I couldn’t bear to listen any longer. I ended the call and broke into tears, clutching my mouth in silence.
I never imagined hearing such words from the husband I had loved for years. Whether it was his true feelings or a line he crafted for some “NTR” scenario, it no longer mattered. My feelings for him were finally and completely severed.
I packed up my things and sat numbly in the living room, waiting for him to come home.
As evening fell, my husband was bewildered by the sight. He angrily asked what exactly I was doing.
Calmly, I said, “What else could it be? Didn’t I tell you before that I want a divorce?”

He kicked over the coffee table and roared, “Could it be that you’re truly in love with Floyd Wade? Are you leaving me for him?!”
Looking at his menacing expression, he seemed like a stranger to me.
“Husband, you’ve never yelled at me like this before. What’s changed? Are you planning to hit me next?”
Maybe it was my cold demeanor that softened him a bit, and he kneeled by my side, holding my waist, begging me not to do this.
“Honey, aren’t we doing fine? Why do we have to divorce? I love you so much…”
I cut him off and played the recording of their conversation from earlier in the day.

As his face turned increasingly grim, he didn’t bother asking how I got the recording. He rushed to explain.
“I was lying to Floyd. There’s no way I’d give you up to someone else!”
I replied, “Really? Wasn’t it you who insisted I seduce him and sleep with him?”
My husband vehemently argued, “It was just sleeping with him!”
I couldn’t hold back any longer and slapped him hard.
“Enough! Don’t you find what you’re saying absurd? Answer me this: if we don’t divorce, will you stop making me seduce others to fulfill your desires?”
He slumped to the ground, one side of his

face swollen. Yet, faced with my question, he was speechless. Even at this point, he couldn’t bring himself to say “no.”
Heartbroken, I pulled my suitcase, left this home behind, and stepped out the door.
